Please discuss issues relating to the protection or how to circumvent it here.
First of all, consult the nfo provided by the scene release you're using, if that doesn't work pose your questions and members of the community might be able to help you.

I just fresh installed XP with SP3.
After that I installed the Daemon Tools Pro 4.30.0303 Advanced-DARK0D3R version and it's working properly (as shown in 'About' of DT)
Only have the vIDE drive available..mounted the pro-x3t and installed (long install ><).
However, I still get "Please insert the original disk" message..and 2 error messages about initializing the program and the code (0x80000003)
Anyone have any clues what went wrong?

Hey,
I followed the instructions to the letter. The game won't start though, giving me that dreaded "please insert the correct DVD" message instead.
Winxp pro SP3.
I've tried about everything, which includes messing around with dt-pro in every conceivable way (all emulations, only rmps, deactivate SCSI completely, changed the vIDE drives parameters to match my real one...), unplugging my optical drive, re-installing the game a few times with and without the patch, same for the tages drivers... I even went as far as to uninstall all programs that I felt might interfere with DT, even if they shouldn't - so there's nothing else related to virtual drives, emulation or even burning on my pc right now.
All that had NO effect. I'm completely out of ideas at this point. Oh, and yes, I'm using 4.30.0303.
So, just in case someone comes up with something, I'd really love to know about it
PS: First post, so hi everybody.

Win XP SP3
DTPro 4300303
please insert disk....
Guess our only hope is a crack...

I tried unplugging, as I wrote earlier. Anyways, I guess you'd want to uninstall the game, purge all traces from the system (use an external uninstaller like Revo, for starters) and then reinstall with the drives unplugged. Let me know how it goes. I wouldn't get too excited, though.

Looks like factors that play into this supposedly also include active securom installations (strange, huh?) and wether or not DT lite was installed before DT pro. Of course, then again there's also people who reinstalled their whole system and still didn't get it to work... while it did work for others. Utterly messed up random mess, if you ask me. Sucks to be on the "'doesn't work" side, especially when it just works for others without any effort whatsoever.

Quote: | Now here is the instruction from Samsonice for you:
YES Finally I got past the "insert original disk"-error. I have had DTpro and mountet the clonedvd-version on a vIDE, but could never get it to work.
The solution is to downgrade your cpu temporarily while starting X3.
Google for "RightMark CPU Clock Utility", download it and run it.
In the profiles section select the Power saving profile. In the "AC Power" column you do the following: click "Use P-state..." and then select the lowest "FID". Normally in my system the FID is set til 9.0x and for my system it is possible to set it to 6.0x.
Then click "Use Throttling" and then decide how much you will downgrade your cpu. I set my system to 50%.
After this click apply to confirm the profile. Next you click on Profiles root and select the "Power saving" profile in "Current" under the "AC power" column.
Click apply to execute the profile.
With the multiplier (FID) set to 6 and the throttle to 50% my two CPU's are now running at 1.150 mhz each instead of 3000 mhz each.
Now run X3TC and wait for the startup-window. If you still see the "insert original disk"-error. Try setting your cpu-throttle lower.
When the X3TC-startup window shows choose the "No management"-profile instead of the "Power saving"-profile and click apply to restore your original cpu-speed.
Now you can click on the "Start X3:TC"-button in the X3-startup window.
Additional comment - if for some reason that still doesn't work then just open your virtual device with terran conflict image mounted and try launching again, it should work. |
Works

little help in case of issues (darc0d3r dt pro install)
Disable AV (otherwise it most likely will fail , was problem in my case)
If an error pops up, always click retry , never ignore.
if errors wont go away = file already in use (from earlier install, most likely)
check task manager if any thing DTpro related is running (usually DTProShellHlp.exe) and terminate it and click retry again.
second error (in my case) was remnant of old installation (1 file i couldnt delete then). Delete the file it mentions inside the app folder ( /program files/Daemon tools pro) and retry. When finished, UNCHECK the "run daemon tools pro now" box and copy the ext.dll file first.

Just so you guys know, some people have reported getting the game to run using dt lite when they used the method I posted above. No guarantees about that, obviously, but worth a try for those of you that can't get DT pro installed.
