Can someone who has played this tell where are the acts in this game located? Are all but the first act in some boring caves or alien places?

By far been having the most fun with Horde mode with friends. Such a simple idea, and not new by any means, but damn is it fun.

It just sucks that Horde is 50 waves of the same things. A boss every 10 waves would have made it alot more fun. Still fun though.

Now when you say "wave", is it like in those Gow2 preview videos where theres like hundreds of locusts on the screen at the same time?

Of course not! And there're only few moments like this in the campaign (and it's more like a couple of dozens than hundreds tbh).
Anyway, you play in any multiplayer map (ie not a very big map to say the least) and you clear wave after wave of locusts coming at you, each wave being more aggressive than the precedent one (and no bosses). It's fun as hell in coop, but boring as fuck when you're alone.
.....I wish I had more gamer friends.....

Started playing today, and the game is amazing.
The graphics are a joy to look at. We´re used to great graphics, but this game is very sharp!

Man, I gotta say I was iffy about this one. It started out so bland, and the early chapters were choppy, poorly segued mishmash. But for some reason I kept at it. I dunno, it felt like a really good action movie: short on story but great on effects and explosions. Then I got to the worm....god damn that was a fun section! The end of it had me in peals of laughter! Gotta take a break though, been pluggin away at this for about 5 hours straight.
Good shooter fun that feels very old school yet new school at the same time. Epic knows their shit!

OMG I take back everything I said, and I'll summarize: whoever thought the ice lake area was a good idea GO FUCKING KILL YOURSELF, NOW! The Centaur handles like dog ass rubbed on a carpet, with tires made of teflon for all the fucking traction you get out of them.
Using left stick for forward/backward motion ONLY is SHITTY DESIGN, has always been SHITTY DESIGN, and will always be SHITTY DESIGN!

I have to admit I'm surprised how good the game looks. Gears 1 looked all... foggy and almost blurry in comparison to it's PC version. This easily proves to me that I -can- see games on the 360 that don't make me sigh(if you don't have an HDTV don't bother replying, downscaling to an SDTV basically removes jaggies because the image is almost half the size). Props to Epic for optimizing the shit out of UE3.5

Using a VGA cable removes jaggies on any TV.

The only thing that is kind of annoying is when you are playing co-op, you can notice the characters' feet hardly touch the ground and sometimes they just look like they are floating.
But besides that, this game is absolutely perfect
