Anyone else getting bluescreen when playing F3, with Vista?
I have tried to re-install the game, RLDs version. I have the latest ATI drivers.

These bluescreens are randomly. Sometimes I can play 1-2 hours without any bs, and sometimes I can only play like 5-10min.

Any ideas?

the first idea with bluescreens is to check what it tells you. It usually mentions which driver croaked out. If its always the same update or downgrade it (or check for overheating, if its the gfx-driver). If its non conclusive from what it crashed or changing all the time, it might be cpu-overheating-related or a game-fuckup or maybe another process running in the background (trojan/virus or your antivirus-program / firewall).

Most people get only crash-to-desktop with Fallout3, me included

I always get the bluescreen when I playing F3. And it says something like; the device driver got stuck in a infinity loop stop-0xooooooEA and a few more numbers.... Begining dump of physical memory... and so on.

F3 is the only game I get a bluescreen in. Farcry 2, Oblivion and other games work like a charm. But I have seen that there are alot of crashes with F3 in Bethesdas forum. Looks like I just have to wait for a patch Razz

Getting bluescreens here too, but I'm on XP. Can't see what the problem is tho, the BSOD flashes for 1sec then the comp immediately reboots. Whats far more annoying is those crackling sounds I have constantly. And no one else seems to have this problem. So when I deactivate sound accel. in dxdiag both the crackling noise and the bsod's disappear but it causes entirely new sound problems which make the game unplayable. Pfft. Mad

1) It's your sound card drivers of course !

2) You can disable that option to automatically reboot the PC, so you can read the info in the bsod

yea lets see. I downgraded my X-fi drivers last night (from oct08 beta to jul08 whql) and could play the game for 3 hrs straight w/o crashes. Lets hope it stays that way..
