|
 |
Buying one as a gift and need to know if I can flash it. The reason why it most likely will be a new one is because the only way I can afford it is if I take advantage of the holiday sales which are coming soon.
If yes then can someone link me to a updated tutorial?

Yes. But you have to get the ID from the Lite-On and flash your old DVD with that ID or the box wont work. And getting the ID, as far as i know, is done via soldering and stuff.
If you feel up to it, google it, otherwise see if someone does it via ebay or such.

i guess my question fits in here.
Someone i know down the street has a faulty xbox360, he is too lazy to get it fixed for whatever reason, thinking of trying to get ahold of that xbox360 for cheap.
im not sure if its a RROD, anyhow can i simply sent it to MS and get it fixed?how does the warrenty work?
Its not a recent console so the DVD rom should be flashable, sounds like if i buy a new 360 and use the old flashable dvd rom from the broken console it will not be easy to make it work....

its not so difficult you just need to extract the key from Liteon using a serial cable you can buy those on ebay... after that insert Liteon key and spoof string into that old dvdrive and your done.
