Like the title says.

My 360 went bust some month ago so I got it repaired etc. Flashed it and all that. For some reason it did not do the "Fall Updated 2007" when I logged on to Live (have a Silver account).

Anyho, wanted to stream a film from the PC using TVersity, and the 360 told me that the codec for DivX and AVI needed to be downloaded. Ok did that...after searching in the menus for over 20 min. Film worked and I thought that's that.

Just wanted to watch another film just now, and the same thing happened "Please download XviD bla bla". Doesn't this get saved or something.

Oh and another thing, why don't I see the Fall Update 2007 anywhere in the menus, to download that is. Or do i have to do it manually using a CD?.

there are 3 updates one for DivX , one for Xvid , one for Xvid+DivX with ac3 , you have to download them to see movies

Hm. ok, my prob is that when i enter live there is only one update available.

And will I be prompted to install the Fall update ONLY! if its not already installed? What i mean is, it will not come up as an option at all...or?

I'm having a similar problem, i also stream videos from tversity to the 360 with no problems.
but i have recenty played a few pre-release games! sooo i have stayed off live, but when i tried to play a video the other day that i know works perfectly well, it comes up with the missing codec warning and refuses to play.

But as soon as i log into live it plays perfectly even though it doesn't download any update as far as i can see, then i log out and bang codec error again!!

So it seems some people have to be logged into live to be able to play certain videos Confused

with Tveristy I get the error msg about the missing codec, is there anyway around this? I cant get on live as I am banned lol..
