I yet to have a smooth lag free problem free online experience tbh. It either can't find any dedicated server and even if it finally finds a server it lags horribly. And that's not the worst problem, sometimes the game just disconnects you or other players ruining the whole experience. Meh.

Any information about LAN support. I've tested the leaked demo but only the online functionality has been implemented so far.
Hope this will have some sort of offline LAN support...not like that piece of shit RA3.

If you start a group and it finds no dedicated server, then you can start a LAN server.

Ok so basically my game works now because i added the steam folder at exceptions in nod32 WTF ?

Cfg...no thankyou. My game folder has different language folders eg. russian,polish,german etc. Is there anything like that in the Steam folder?

Well, I just broke down and bought it off of steam. Cannot wait to play this demo, downloading now. Also does anyone know if there will be a match/lobby area to meet people to play this game? Or do you have to know someone and get their IP address to play? I am hoping, praying that I can just meet strangers in a lobby and start a 4 player COOP game. That would be so realistic playing with people that you don't know. Just like in the game!

anyone know where i install the demo from newsgroups/torrents, so it shows up in steam as trying to d/l it from steam is fuckin pointless atm, "steam servers are too busy" etc etc

I thought Steam Cloud was always on. It saves your profile and saved games. It's enabled in the options menu. If you go to a friends house and login to Steam and install L4D all your settings should be already configured.

the demo is fun, i didnt even preorder the game and i got a ey, for those who want a key, hopefully this will work, if u go to the gamestop website, and click where they show left for dead, there is a link where u put in ur receipt number and email so they can send you a cd key for those who preorderd. there is a example of what ur supposed to put in, i just put in some random numbers the same format with dashed that they expect you to put, and it worked they sent me a email with a key, so for those who looking for a key you can try that.

played the demo multiple times it IS really fun and especially when others have microphones , the AI director works and everytime there's something different so far , but it can get really easy, I really recommend Expert mod that's the only mod that can provide something of a challenge anything less will only make you an invincible rambo with stuff to shoot at and ends the game rather quickly
I personally think this is a LAN game , since only a very limited amount of players can join a server and that makes it very hard to find one with an empty spot, but I expect it to be modded just like CS & TF to even reach 38 players ( a LOT of zombie bosses vs more survivors )
