Source? They only said they would like to expand to console market in the future, but they see themselves as a PC company.

That is a veeeeeery old rumor spykez and was never confirmed, you can actually see a fps in the witcher anniversary trailer, maybe they did hire console programmers for that game. There will be more from Geralt but right now we don't know if it's witcher 2 or expansion or when or anything, they will probably make it for pc only then possibly port it to consoles (aka Total Commander).
p.s. the name of the fps is They, it's not a cdproject game they bought it from someone half-finished it was meant for xbox360 and ps3 (as stated on gamespot) now that cdproject got their hands on it probably pc as well.

i mean what did you expect , KOTOR was also a XBOX game and it was based on the NWN engine so why not Witcher ...
the only thing that could save the PC as a gaming platform is a working new Windows not a Vista gimic with dx10 that hardly no one uses for their games ... why , XBox360 is dx9c DUH
if Windows 7 in 2009 will be a flop we can say bye bye to PC gaming for the newer titles and go buy a console for games ...

Yes in 2007 PC gaming sales outsold any single console. And out revenued xbox360 and Ps3 combined.
PC gaming is a Juggernaut it just tends to not perform well in a brick n mortar setting. But when you add in online purchases and MMO subscriptions it stomps the shit out of consoles. The tired PC gaming is dying meme is based on stupidity not facts.

Anyway, really this argument is about the performance of AAA games released on both the PC and consoles. Inevitably they sell far better on consoles which drives the more proliferous developers to produce their premium games with console priority. No-one is disputing the PC is king when it comes to third party games. The only thing is most of them are mediocre at best.

Anyway, really this arguement was in response to statement that i quoted. Not the strawman you are creating.
Which is a facetious comparison when you factor in most multiplatform games not designed with the PC in mind tend to be awful ports. They also tend to be released months after the console counterpart.
NPD information for box sales dont give a full picture with regards to PC gaming. Only 30% of the revenue earned by PC gaming was in the form of retail sales. As opposed to console gaming in which it accounts for 90+% of its total revenue.

Your arguement kinda falls flat when the best selling games for consoles are "casual" and not AAA titles. Unless you consider nintendogs and wii sports AAA titles. In a comparison the core games the PC stomps on consoles in every objective way.
Blizzard by itself generates enough revenue to compete against TOTAL revenue generated by ps3 or xbox360.Thats a single developer versus an entire console....
This also completely ignores PC gaming hardware which isnt included in the PCGA figures of revenue. But are included in xbox360/ps3/wii revenue figures.

Oh, I see you read that marketing paragraph and bought it. Come back in a few years and join us old gamers.
And the Witcher wasn't broken, I finished the game with the 1.2 patch and it was the most bugfree RPG I've ever played ! Also, the enhanced edition was "free" anyway, for those that'd bought the original.

Yeah I played it at release. It was broken, it was terrible. 5 minute load times were fucking awesome!
At least they patched it to make it just shitty instead of broken and shitty. This game gets way too overrated simply because it's half-indie (lol hi console release) and was PC only (lol hi consoles again!). Oh and it had tits. Woo. Great game there. Click click click click click.

I meant with the 1.2 patch that was released soon after initial release. It fixed almost everything, especially the loading times.
And just because it wasn't developed by a US company, it's not half-indie you idiot !!! Unbelievable !
And quit with the nerdraging.
P.S.: What do you care about the console release ? They could release it for the fucking Gameboy now for all I care.

What PC did you have with 5 min loading times? A Pentium 2 with a voodoo 5?
I had ~15-20 sec loading times with my pc that was mid/low-end at release.

?? i finished v1.0 on my amd athlon 3000+, with a 6600gt and 1gb ram, had around 15-20 sec loading times, didnt notice any bug (well maybe 1, but still..) and thought it was one of the best games ever
i crashed once or twice but that was fixed by changing some video-setting
whats all this talk about ?
the witcher a broken shitty game? compared to what? seriously ...
