fine here so far. I played GoW2 the day it was released online, however, I haven't played any of the seed4me releases or any of the non-retail copies. Should be interesting to see how this turns out.

haven't played any copies online but played gow2 and fallout 3 on the same day they were leaked, unlocking achievements on both. use the same profile to play on and offline, also keep my date and time correct and just checked but no ban.

Only stupid kids that play games before they are released and that aren't stealth patched but play live are banned, if you follow a few simple rules you'll never get hammered.

Now I'm sure most people won't understand the above, but c4eva has confirmed that there are no changes in the checks performed by MS. This has left most people speculating that the reason people are being banned is for playing bad ISO files, specifically the Seed4Me review copies.

So what to do now? Well I would reccommend playing only original retail games, or games which you know are 100% verified and stealthed - as always. But be extremely careful. Anyone who is reading this, and has been banned, please post either here or in TheGRiM's thread, which games you have been playing recently, specifically seed4me releases.

A question to those who have not been banned.

Do you guys only play games from your region or do you play region free games on live?

Just checked, haven't been banned yet. I think my GH4 is NTSC, rest was mainly PAL. I also wasn't connected to Live while playing any games like GoW2, Fo3 or Fable2... lets hope I won't get banned any time soon, I really need Live for RB/GH song downloads and awesome live games like Castle Crashers.

Doesn't seem to matter whether you are connected to live or not with backup games. I never had my xbox connected when playing backups. Only ever played online (or even had discs in console) that were originals and I still got banned.

My theory (based entirely upon guesswork) is that provided you have never taken your console online prior to its being flashed you seem to be okay. Something to do with MS detecting a difference on your console pre and post flashing.

Also provided your games are properly stealthed retail versions you should be okay. I know one guy who plays every new game on live even before their official release dates and he has never been banned, BUT his console has been flashed from purchase and as such never on live before it was flashed. Could be coincidence but maybe not...
