From all the screenshots, the gfx look basically identical to Most Wanted. I don't see any improvements. GTA IV gfx look alot better than this.

NFS 3 was the best game IMO, although it's very old...
This game looks quite similar, could be really fun. I have my hopes up for this! Smile

No, watch some recent gameplay videos.
You can very well customize your ride.

They are as this game was being developed at the same time as Most Wanted. These guys need a new premise ASAP. I don't want to drive everyday cars through the city with some tacky story/theme. I wish they'd go back to their roots and do strictly super cars with SPEED being the objective on those long point to point sweeping courses.

PGR4 is what NFS could have been in terms of accuracy with cars inside and out and capturing how crazy and fun exotics are to drive. But these guys have made NFS as well as every other franchise into a Madden, we get a updated car roster and some new players in the story.

I disagree, there is only one NFS and there are tons of similar half simulator games PGR, Gran Turismo, Forza, annual games from Codemasters (GRID, DIRT). Why would you want NFS to be another Forza or GRID? NFS with story and cutscenes ftw.

Don't really care about a view inside the car.

I drive in first person mode, the view inside the car would just clutter up my screen.
Driving in first person is sooo much better (can be a bit tricky the first few times), but lot more intense then the other cams.

I am not talking about simulation. I'm talking about the direction the series has gone, I was in love with 1-3. Crazy fast super cars on unique courses. The previous games were a celebration of cars and the series has shifted that toward a bunch of filler bullshit. I'm not the one condoning half simulators, you should consult the dev's because they are the ones trying to give the game physics. I want it back how it was, pure arcade racer that was about cars and speed.

The early NFS titles were no where near simulation or a 50/50 I think you misunderstood my post. What I meant with the PGR4 comparo is NFS could have incorporated that in car view and added that much more immersion, not the physics, I'm talking about the portrayal of cars. PGR4 made the cars the highlight of the game where as NFS has slowly changed that. When a racing game has to add a storyline driven by cutscenes with actors to add depth you know it's in trouble. Laughing

I don't play a racing game to watch actors involved in a uninteresting plot, I play them for the cars and competition which this series lost a long time ago.

well in http://www.gametrailers.com/player/42521.html?type= vid you can customize vinyls and bodykit etc but im not talking about that

im talking performance... ie engine/turbo/intercooler etc etc that part of tweaking should be more or less gone

tbh i dont really care about visual stuff .. put a wide bodykit a spoiler and some color and im done

http://www.nfsunlimited.net/article/undercover_preview_final
here is a good example what i mean

Tuning
Visual tuning has been a large part of the recent Need for Speed games and Undercover follows that tradition. Once again you can pimp up your cars with a large selection of new rims, spoilers, hoods and other parts. There is no separate bumpers and sideskirts as promised earlier, but just about 3 bodykits per car. Parts are autosculptable again so that should give you a bit more options. What is new this year is the painting options, which allow you to paint separate parts of the car, and the improved vinyl screen. You can now see all the vinyls in the menu before you apply them to your car, meaning that browsing around the huge selection of vinyls (around 12 groups of up to 60 vinyls) will be much faster and easier. The vinyl layer limit is 20 again. That might be a problem as in the build I was playing there was no mirror vinyl button, meaning you had to put the same vinyl on your car twice to show up on both sides.
Performance upgrades and tuning has been scaled down a lot this year. For the upgrades, you will just have 3 upgrade packages and on the tuning side only the before mentioned 5 sliders. Cars are however divided into tiers - you can upgrade a low end car to a higher tier, but you won't be able to match a high end tier, like the Koenigsegg CCX for example.

the rep stuff itself wasn't so much the problem...rather the fact that more often than not the shittiest parts gave you the highest rep bonus
