The invisible walls in this game are driving me insane. Seriously, first level, there are shacks right there with no doors, and yet, you can't go inside.
Kind of starting to hate this game.
Correcting people since 2007 even if they're not wrong.

Since some people make up their entire opinion about the game just from singleplayer, I guess it's valid for me to make up my entire opinion about the game just from playing multiplayer. I think this game is great and worth every cent.

What does that have to do with it? Are you one of those "you didn't buy it, so don't criticise" people?
I agree that people should not bitch about MP not working (obviously ) and they should not bash the game or series. But constructive criticism on a pirated version is no different than from someone who bought the game... |
I think if u didnt buy the game and starts bashing the game, uninstall and dl another game. If u're a cheap skate and didnt buy it in the first place u somewhat lost the right to complain in that same process.
I have no problem with constructive criticism, imo i dont think that post was constructive. I havent yet discovered any invisible walls in shacks, i was too busy playing the game and enjoying myself, rather than looking for flaws.
You of course are entitled to your opinion, as we all are.

So basically if I knew this guy who made sausages for a living and he said, "Hey AKofC you're kinda sexy and cool, here, have this sausage for free without paying a single dime for it!" and I take the sausage and I eat it.
And god damn this is the best sausage I've ever fucking tasted. So I ask him what's so special about this sausage and he shows me that it's made out of the meat of homeless people.
Since I haven't paid for said sausage, guess I shouldn't point out how that's not cool.

I´m enjoying this sp almost the same as the cod4 one; Actually, it´s like playing modern warfare again in other scenario, and that´s ok for me...I have no prob with scripting whenever the game is fun and challenging as this one is. Plus it runs flawlessly.

It doesn't matter if the invisible walls are there or not, he said it in a good way.
Not constructive for me is something like "OMG tis gam SUXX0rS!11" or "CoD is boring". I agree that those people should shut the fuck up. |
Constructive criticism is when you not only point out mistakes, but give an idea of HOW TO MAKE IT BETTER. (that's the constructive part). So, it wasn't really constructive at all.

Well, obviously if the invisible walls bothered him, it would be better without any borders?! It's quite clear what would make it better here...

I agree, however being constructive doesnt mean ju can just say "make the game more open" or "remove the invisible walls" since its a decision they made designing it. They didnt want it to be as open as FC2 for instance. Sure i'll give it that much that they could've made a barrier of some sort, broken beams or what ever to let people know they shouldnt try to enter. Still, ive not come upon any invisible walls yet, i havent tried to go anywhere but where i was supposed to i guess. Either im easily led or maybe they managed to design it with enough common sense, that i never felt i had to "explore" the map to really enjoy a cod game.

Is it just me or is stabbing / slicing people in this game easier than in 4?
I mean I can just melee 2 or 3 guys in a row, and even get enough for an artillery strike when I use my bayonet + 3x gas grenade + gasmask + extreme conditioning build.
Anyway, artillery strike is an extreme downgrade from the airstike, but I guess still useful because it stuns opponents, so it's easier to shoot them.
Dogs however are annoying.

Okay, here's some constructive-ness: Dear Treyarch, don't place a shack that has a fully modeled interior, that isn't even off the beaten path of the map, that doesn't have a door or anything else tangible preventing me from going inside, and then not let me walk inside.

I know that is not their design for this game isn't full open world. But you don't have to be an open world game, to not let me walk through open doors.
You seem to understand this, though. I just don't think it's acceptable in a game of this stature, in 2008, to have such glaring invisible walls. I simply cannot respect invisible walls in the doorway of a shack with a fully-modeled interior, as a "design decision."

Thanks for your more "constructive" criticism of the game...this is a typical blunder in game design and beta testing not being complete...there apparently is supposed to be a door there and if, as you say, the inside is detailed, a working door..therefore the dev didn't texture that door and if a working door, didn't script it either.
Unacceptable BUG/FLAW/pain in the ass, that shouldn't be in a final design.
Your "find" should be addressed on the official forums for the game. They will see it and fix it in another patch. That is if that particular shack is of viable usage for the game flow.

You know, I really shouldn't have to make it "constructive." I mean, I pointed out the problem I had with it, and the solution should be obvious to anyone reading it. I don't see why I have to type it out, other than to satisfy this weird requirement some people have for criticism to be overly "constructive," even if the solution to the complaint it clear as day.

Those are pretty big assumptions.

Heh, I don't think it's something they'd patch, because I assume it's intentional (the game is littered with invisible walls) It's not a useful-looking shack, no. It's just dumb you can't walk in.

I would much rather rampage freely across the savannah, torching and blowing shit up as I please, then play the same narrow-corridor, overly-linear, overly-scripted WWII shooting gallery design that we've been playing since Medal of Honor 1 on PSX. |
Then u shouldnt play cod, crysis etc kinda shooters..
I dont say i wouldnt want more open maps, sure, but after all cod's got an arcadeish kinda gameplay since 2003 and i seriously doubt it'll change to cod6.
Look at medal of honors: airbourne, tried to do something different and i felt it more to be a nuisance to have to parashute every single time after getting killed. And it wasnt like the AI roamed the map either.
FC2 dont have an AI that drives around the whole map either, they got their scripted routes and waypoints they drive around. I like that kind of game aswell, but FC2 isnt as action driven as cod is either. Cod series always had a highly paced gameflow and wouldnt be as action packed with too open maps or free exploration ability.

LOL, well gee thanks seeing as I have beta tested eeryone of the COD series and that is exactly what is happening but you go ahead an assume I have no clue about which I speak.
If there is an invisible wall, it is an untextured brush blocking your way...guaranteed. After all, nothing solid is really invisible.

Ummm... so basically, you're saying that they intended to clutter the game for no reason by creating a completely textured room with meshes, etc. and then blocking it off? If that's the kind of design decisions that go on at Treyarch, then it's no wonder people are bitching about the game. Odds are a lot better that someone unintentionally put a clipping wall across the door, and it's supposed to be open.
Seriously though, stop deepthroating Treyarch and accept that life is better in the CoD universe when Infinity Ward is at the helm.

sigh, all the cracked servers require the new patch... Does the patch updates the SP exe and if yes- does the cracked exe from 1.0 works? And also do i need a new MP exe to play cracked servers?
