|

As the topic says, I've never burned a HDrip (mkv)
And I've never added/hardcoded subtitles to a video. Plz help or point to a tutorial or something.
P.S.: It's to be played on a standalone dvd-player which supports HD output.

A dvd-player that plays mkv files or hd? Really?
If you need hard-coded subtitles from a MKV, just use mkv2vob with the following settings:
- Preferred Audio Language: ENG (or whatever language we're talking here)
- Video Transcoding: Automatic
- Preferred Subtitle Language: ENG (or whatever, check in a software player what subs there are)
- File Splitting: none
- Output File Extension: mpg
- Transcoding Codec: x264 for quality, or mpeg2 if you don't have the hardware or can't wait long
- Boost AAC and DTS Volume
- Always Encode Subtitles

No, I meant the release I'm downloading is an mkv (size is 4.3gb), lol, sorry for confusing you. The dvdplayer is just supposed to output in HD resolutions according to its specs (my friend tells me it also has a display that shows which resolution it's using)
I guess I'll use mkv2vob to make it an mpeg and then burn it with Nero or whatever as dvd--video ? The download isn't finished yet, but I suppose the subtitles are included, huh ?
Or is there a software taht can burn mkvs as dvd-video directly ?
