Does anyone know anything about XNA for the 360? Can you make the games and play them on your home console? If so, how (payment? extra hardware? etc..)?

XNA is free, but I think if you don't have a development console, you have to pay an annual fee for the XNA Creators Club. It's not that high actually, and they have lots of good examples for it. With the creators club, you can even use Live for both PC and 360.

I'm not 100% sure about this, because there was talk about changing it with XNA 3, but it was long time ago, so you have to check for yourself.

Thanks Leo, I had a look myself and found nothing obvious which is why I posted. I'll take a closer look for "XNA Creators Club" and see what pops up!

You have to be member of xna creators club premium. It costs $99 a year. Also your console has to have a harddrive.

I'm sure you would need to have an XNA account to play the alpha and betas. Sad Homebrew FTW! heh

The deal with XNA is that almost anything you do for the 360, you can run on the PC.
