But that's not the only problem. The levels are uninteresting. At least the demo levs - and they should be super-attractive because the demo sells the game. There's no variations - play each one a dozen times and you'll know every spawn point of the hordes, every fuel canister etc. |
Wow, that is suck ass.
Thought it pretty much would be the opposite to what you say.
Cool levels, ai is different every time you play and change with your own abilities, etc.
But yeah, together with some friends it should still rock. It´s zombies ffs.

Ok, any word on the demo for xbox 360? i am @ work at the moment and would be pleasantly suprised if its out so i can play it when i get home.

Lol.
I guess there is now 3 different ways of getting hold of a demo thru LIVE-service.
1. Silver-membership. Gets the demo last.
2. Gold-membership. Gets the demo first or second to first.
3. Beta, preorder, etc, with a code basicly. Gets demo first.
And this for a demo that is in the interest of the game itself. Isn´t demo=marketing?

I am playing it for the 3rd time now and i think it is really great, i have lots of fun.
What dont you like about it?

This game is great, and like jmdeking said, if you don't use teamwork on advanced and expert, you are going to die, very quickly. Played through it about 15 times, still loving the game. Nothing like having a horde following you and your friends, go into a room and close the metal door behind you. So tense when you see them pounding that door in, and eventually pouring through.

Just as I said before - there's no team work if you enter a random game with some people. You'll always get some 13 y.o. burning everyone with an exploded gas canister or just starting some team killing.

Well like i said before, play it on Expert and you are forced to play in a team, i played it the whole evening till i went to sleep and i was frustrating for 30mins total of people teamkilling and hearing their voice on teamspeak i figured they were kids, what i did was, everytime you get killed by those people give them a negative player review for unsporting conduct so you will avoid those people and then you will only play with serious people. (it worked for me)
Btw you cant blame valve for immature kids teamkilling cause valve knows their shit and this game rocks!

I thought it was a pretty sweet demo.
There was only one thing that I didn't really agree with... it's the situations where you need to rely on a teammate to save you.
I FULLY understand and appreciate what they're trying to do with that in place the way it is, but I just don't agree that you should stand absolutely no chance.
I wish there had been some sort of difficult quick time event associated with them, and if you fail it, THEN a teammate should have to come rescue you.
Just a minor gripe I guess, otherwise I thought it was pretty amazing.
I also think it's foolish for people to be like "This game will be boring as fuck based on this demo!" That's like, playing the first dungeon of Diablo II, or on like a 20 minute timer, and being like "Diablo II is just going to be more of this, that sucks! How repetitious! How boring! If you play this first dungeon ten times over it gets so boring!"
Of COURSE it gets boring. ;P But if you did that, 374809384234823 people would have missed out on an amazing game. So that argument of applying the demo over the entire game is pretty weak. Besides, we haven't even gotten to play as the zombies properly yet (I know there was a pc tweak or something that let you do it). That's going to be a huge mode as well.
Oh, and before any jackass tries to jump on me about Diablo II sucking, just go ahead and insert whatever other wildly popular game came out, it works with any example. You can't play a tiny amount of a game 10 times over and call the entire game repetitive and boring... ;P

It's not tiny, dude. There's only 16 maps. And if they're all short, dull, bleak and uninventive like the demo ones (supposed to be the best to sell the product), it's an epic fail.
And Diablo has nothing to do here, because there's a different motivation in it - loot, unique items etc. In a game like L4D the best motivation is - "what awaits me around this corner? how will I get out of a surprise trap that I don't know of? is this corridor safe or there's two horde triggers there and there?"
Play it a dozen times and it becomes as pointless as The Club - you're perfecting your score points for no actual reward.

Don't like some of the weapons either. The shotgun feels lke a pea shooter whilst it should rip and tear.

The shotgun does rip and tear, both infected and doors.
The game is obviously alot better on PC, with mods, maps and such made by other people.

You are already making assumptions and never played the full product, i dont think you are being objective and to be honest neither am i. But this deserves more than you are giving it.
Well, everybody their own tastes i guess.
