I woke up exactly at 5am just to update lol. Totally worth it! 
By the way, the disc in the tray only displays a small image here also. No big image. And Im not banned.

I've updated to the NXE offline from a cdrw this morning, then signed in to Live just to find out my ass got banned! 
I've installed the NXE preview a couple of weeks ago when it came out and never been online since then.
The only game I played online was GOW1 (original copy), with free gold membership cards, once in a while...
I play all my games offline on a different gamertag which is not attached to Live.
As I have an old firmware which I never bothered to update (1 year and 1/2 old or so), I guess my box was tainted due to lack of stealth whatsoever and M$ just crawled up my ass and ban the shit out of me  .
All in all, I'm not gonna miss much (since I'm not a gold member)...

Alright I just tried GoW2 and it shows a giant image. So I guess it will only show giant images for certain games for now. Try GoW2 NoReaction, it should show a giant image.
Also, try being connected to Live because it might have to download the image.

I just tried to connect my modded banned box to xbox live it teels me it has to update the box before i can continue.
Is this wired, a banned box that can get the update, did M$ miss somethin.
I havent aplied the update i wantet to see if any one else has tryied to connect there banned boxex.

Yeah i have tried GoW 2 but theres is only a small image in the corner  And im signed in on live and ervrything. But Live so fucking slow right now. Maybe it will work better tomorrow |
Yes maybe it will work better tommorow in your area. Although I updated this morning, many features were missing and showing errors. Now it is a few hours later and more and more things are starting to work properly. I was getting the small images in the morning but now I get the big images for some games such as Fable:
And some games still have the small image such as Mirrors Edge and Dead Space. I think we just need to give it some time before they all appear.

Yea it DEFINITELY sounds like you need to give it more time because those menus are essential. I live in New York and so far just minor errors still remain. Id say it will take at least a day or two for everything to be fully functional.

One more thing I just noticed, the images do not come up if you're not connected to Live. So I guess it just streams the images and doesn't store them on your HDD.

I seen a early release but I heard it doesnt have Xvid or MKV support. I want to install the new dash, I am banned from live, but I want to be able to play vid files like xvid and mkv. I wonder if a full ver of NXE is out or will be out soon to put on a CD to be installed since im banned??? anyone know anything about this

I've installed the NXE offline from a cdrw. I've tried streaming divx/xvid files and it's asking for an update, which is obviously fucking with me since I'm banned... What's the point streaming low-res videos anyway?  I mean yeah, why not...? But having a good htpc setup here, I see no point in that... |

It's worth the install just for a little peace and quit and you save your dvd drive a little, definitely a big plus and you should install the game you play the most.

The only times I notice texture pop-ups are in UE3 games...and installing games on HDD doesn't fix shit about it...

thats not right,lost odysseys using UE3 too and there is no texture popins in the background!
its just the shitty programming if this game!
square enix are now the EA roleplay developers!

After installing NXE, you have to go online to download the Divx enabled media update. Even if you already had this update w/ the old dashboard, you have to re-download it. So if you had the divx support, got banned, and installed the NXE by CD/USB/new 360 game/etc. you are screwed.

I didnt install NXE and im not going to if I cant stream hd mkv files anymore with tversity. hopefully a patch version hits ng's soon.

The NXE seems really cool! I upgraded earlier today and it took 5 minutes. I am not banned and have a Benq Ixtreme 1.41. The avatars are way better than the crappy Wii Miis. Hopefully there isn't a switch that will be thrown 2 weeks from now banning us all! LOL! Oh well, glad I did it.

Yeah, there is a final NXE iso floating around out there on torrent. You don't have to be on Live to use this NXE upgrade. It can be done as a CD or USB thumb drive. I haven't done it but it's out there.

In the My Xbox tab, if you move your Right Stick left to right really quickly, the avatar gets angry. If you move the stick up and down, it becomes happy
