anyway, this game is even more retarded than i thought
if you put under regional settings (win) country to which the game supports language it starts the setup without letting you choose the language (automatically choosing the one it reads from regional settings). and then the whole game is in that language, you can't change it anywhere

My game is in English with Swedish regional setting. You should be able to change in regedit in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA Games\Need for speed undercover. Dunno if it works but there's one called Language and Locale in there at least.
If you tried that I guess you can't.

didnt have the problem with my install. Installed english on a german xp. Are you on vista? |

Guys, I've been thinking. I did not have this problem with Carbon or Pro Street. The only thing that has changed in my computer since Pro Street (besides GFX drivers, obviously) is that I upgraded to 4 GB RAM. I had 2 GB when playing Pro Street. Can this be the issue? Maybe the crappy Need For Speed engine can't handle 4 GB RAM.
So, how much RAM do you have and do you have crappy performance in UC?
For me: 4 GB and a big huge YES.

4GB and rest of system specs below (except GPU stock and CPU 3.2GHz). Goes 40fps+ and 30fps+ with lots of cars, 1680x1050, some AA and AF, all maxed except world effects medium (to get rid of blur).
Got my first crash, or it got stuck while pimping my Escort Cosworth looks. Seems kinda hard when the percentage goes so slow and you can't use mouse as it doesn't keep it's row. Then you have to look at your car with bright backlight, as you can't do a 180 on the camera. The color tuning wheel was quite nice though.
Was wondering why can't I tune my car one bit and seems you had to find a parts shop. Trouble with all the TAB TAB TAB was you didn't really cover any grounds. Still all the tabbing gets quite addictive, maybe I'll go tab some more and hope autosclupt don't funk up this time.

This game is actually fucking incredible , you can turn 90 degrees at 300 kmph without crashing nice one EA retards , stupid arcade game

Nah. I didn't play Carbon, but from all I've played of Undercover, the only person who's 'raced' with me so far is a protection mission where I had to ram cars before they rammed this woman who's supposed to have something to do with the plot.
Other than that it's just you versus the other racers, or you versus the cops. Maybe it changes later on, but 50+ races/cop missions in and it's all been me vs them.

Hey, guys. I reinstalled Pro Street just to see if it had the same problems as UC. Well, Pro Street is fluid and everything UC is not wrt. performance. I have no dual core issues with PS. I have no performance issues at all.
How do you make an engine WORSE? Take Crytek, they made the Cryengine better with Warhead. Fuck you, EA. Give us a patch for this piece of shit.

Q6600, 2gb ram, 8800GTS 512, using pretty old drivers. Everything maxed at 1680x1050 except world effects to get rid of massive bloom.
