Don't know, just released. but I don't think so. SKIDROW always steals stuff. I think they repacked the release we have since days. Only SP will work and the console trick. But SKIDROW never cracked steam.

No need for console trick. Russians (who else) have released a non-Steam dedicated server  So I just run it and people show up.

Not necessarily, the game is available in stores now, maybe SKIDROW release it's not the steam version.

Haha, funny. Actually it's password protected now, only friends can join. I ran it open first to see if people can join at all.

Yep, its the same as the other no-steam unofficial ones. The only difference is a fancy installer.

It's really simple. You extract the contents to the Left 4 Dead folder and run un_srcds.exe You can change the the left4dead\config\server.cfg to manage the server. |

Just shame they don't put lower prices on Steam than stores... After all, you get no printed (i.e. cost to produce) material after all. But other than that, completely true. |
I paid 40 bucks for it on steam. It was 50$ retail at launch.
