Posted: Fri, 14th Nov 2008 14:14 Post subject: Very very very strange problem (Pc -> Plasma) |
|
 |
Firstly , if this topis is puted in wrog section, mods fell fre to move it.
Let me try to explain.
I have Plasma Tv Panasonic-TH42PX80 witch is hooked to my Pc ( Quad core 6600, 4GB Ram, nVidia 8800 GT 512 MB, Win Xp SP2 )
It is hooked on DVI- HDMI adapter with separate audio cables.
Everything seem to be ok, i have good picture and sound on my TV, but whan i turn off my TV and turn on it back, all my channels are messed. ( Tv channels are all set to one program lol ). Even if i search for new Tv channels it found just that one ????
Than again if i unhooked the cables from TV or disable the signal via nVidia control pannel, turn of TV, than everything seem to be ok ( all channels are back )
Im quite sure that something is wrong with my settings in my contol pannel.
I ve set it to clone display, picture seems to be ok ( bit to large couse defoult resolution witch was set automaticly to 1280 x 720 60herz refresh rate ) Naitive resolution of my Plasma is 1024x768 100hertz. My monitor is Samsung BW 22" witch naitive resolution is 1860 x 1050 60hertz refresh rate.
Could someone give me a step by step instruction how to set up correctly my nvidia control pannel set up. ( i still have installed drivers witch i get with graphic card that i bought one year back )
I hope that explained clear enough lol.
All tip are well welcome and thanks in advance !

A word to the wise, never adjust your shit through windows, I have an entire mediacenter at home, I watch my shit through my projector, can also watch television etc on it. And you should start using powerstrip, its the best tool for the job, hands down the best,
cheers,

I'll check them out once I get home, does the TV channels ever come back with those settings? I have a problem where all my TV channels disappear only to reappear hours later which I think is due to a bad antenna (bought in a freakin' lidl)

I have the same, or very similar, setup as you except I have ati they are better at dual display. Panasonic plasma connected via a hdmi cable (tv) that goes to a hdmi-dvi adapter that I got with ati and that connects to my graphics card. Audio has separate cables. Works fantastic for games and movies that I have on my hard-drive, picture is 1080p, display is clone.
Not sure how anything you do on your comp can mess up your channels on your tv, you didn't specify a lot of information and some things I don't understand like all channels on one program??
What do you mean your monitor is analog the 8800gt has two dvi connections, do you have an old monitor and you use a dvi-analog adapter? If you think that is the problem just unplug your monitor from 8800 and see if your channels get messed up.
What kind of setup do you have for watching tv, cable, digital do you have a receiver etc.

Yes they do. If i disconnect cable from TV or disable connection in control panel before i turn on TV. Than all channels are like they should be. But if i turn on TV before i disable connection between PC and TV all channels are set to one (some stupid italian program lol )

Yes quite strange... I recive 86 channels on my TV. After i connect it to PC, i still have 86 channels, but they are all set to one program. Hard to explain in english.

My monitor is Samsung BW 22" . It was automaticly set to analog (dont know why).
I saw this in control panel in display settings. Will try to unplug monitor to see if there is any changes. No, i dont have and DVD player or xBox..... nothing just PC.

I have the exact same configurations as you Prideless, except the custom resolutions, I just run a 1280*720 on the TV and the standard resolution on my PC Monitor.

I tried to connect PC an Plasma via DVI - VGA cable. My problem with channels is gone, but guess what. My VGA input on plasma supports only 1024x768 resolution so : §$&%"#&

Interesting ... maybe your hdmi to dvi adapter screws them up, you can also try another hdmi cable.
About the vga cable that is normal, you picture quality will be much lower then via a hdmi cable.

it would seem there is at least a solution, switch your TV back to the tuner before turning the power off ...

I can also disable connection in control panel and it is ok, but it is so annoying as fuck.
I invested a lot of money, build all my cables into walls, juto be near perfect, and now this.

Heh, i changed internet provider ( witch includes digital TV ) and the problem is gone now.
Before i had cable internet and Tv signal. It looks like that just analog signals are messing those TV channels.
So everything work like it should now.
