yea god forbid installing a game take as much effort as signing up for this forum with a verification email.
it must have been pure hell for you knowing you had to register and click the activation mail to post on these forums so you could talk about how much you hate registering and clicking activation links.

no groups lost the ball about 2 years ago by forcing people to use mini-images because the cracks in the releases are nuked, cause crashes, or savegame doesnt work using them.
hardly anymore you find groups releasing 2-3 games in a row that doesnt need a proper for it.

Well, for the rest of us that have been playing games for years, signing up to crap you don't know/care about seems strange. So, I think he's serious.

I agree.
back in the day the hassle was having to keep the manual so you could look on page 4 paragraph 5 word 6 to start the game EVERYTIME you wanted to play.. so you had your xeroxed copy on hand.
On the other side of the coin, if they brought that 'protection' back, think of what people would raise hell of it when signing up once for a ingame addon now makes them go off the handle.
"what you mean i need to look up and find a certain word just to start the game?"
its just a difference of times, no better no worse.

I didn't start playing games yesterday.
Just saying that his post seemed more like an excuse for him not thinking about buying it in the first place.

Since it's past the prescription(?) date I can safely "boast" about how I cracked the protection for Battlehawks 1942 for Amiga. It had that system where it would ask for a word on "Page X, Paragraph X, Line X, Word X". All I had to do was load the exe into C-Monitor, do a mem-search for the words in various forms (if they had been shifted or undergone some simple encryption), note the memory pointers, search for those and disassemble the code that handled those pointers and make any word or character pass the protection. Fun times and fond memories.

i have it on my ps3 but with my 4870X2, cant wait to try it out. If it looks better than my ps3, fuck it, I'll buy it for the PC (and for easier mp access. not easy with my ps3 cause my comp and ps3 are across the room from each other).

The game is not even out now and you can complain about something? Go pre-order the game then, if you dont like their job.

You guys calling DRM bullshit?
You guys are the main reason why these game have DRM, and %80 of you guys gonna download the game and play with a cracked .EXE anyway, so whats your prob?
I pre-ordered the game and dont really mind activating it online because i can understand from a companys point of veiw that all their doing is protecting their investment... SIMPLE.
