How do I override the game restricted settings? It won't let me take my Texture Quality to HIGH.
Ran a benchmark:
Medium Texture Quality (won't let me set to high)
Highest Render Quality
65% View Distance
0 Shadow Setting
Other Densities Maxed Out
On an E8400 and 8800 GTS 640 MB and 4 GB on Vista x 64 - Averaged 32 FPS.

Try adding "-norestrictions" to the EXE shortcut. I think I saw this in the official forum.

Did they ever release a patch for Bully (which seems to be in the same poor condition - more like an emulation than a proper conversion).. If they did then maybe there's some hope, otherwise I'm seriously thinking about returning my copy, i don't want to support Rockstar if they've now decided to screw PC users..

I give up this game for today.... simply doesnt work the piece of crap !!!!!
Hope tomorrow some patches are available.... Thanks Rockstar for ruining my day wasting 6 hours on installing and figuring out how to get this piece of crap to work !

People are saying it works on some private trackers. So just wait and see or try it yourself..
And anyone actually playing this with playable FPS? 30+ at least?

After reinstalling because the game wouldnt start after installing the windows live update i finally enterd the game. It was running descent on medium.... but i missed the minimap and some other things that should be there. Now i restarted the game and now i can't see anything no more.

After restarting the game again ( third time ) my monitor went to sleep down mode and i had to poweroff the computer. After pressing it on my monitor remained black. After another restart my computer worked again. The settings in GTA are on 1024x768 so that cant be the problem. Gonna restart the game once more but probably my computer dies on this attempt cause it gets worse after every time i start the game.
I state : i will never buy a game nomore before i played the game at least 2 months pirated !! I'm sick off all this crap releases !!! And if a descent game comes out i has a gameplay of 8 hours ! This is the reason pc gaming is dying !! Wish i had a ps3 so i could just buy the freaking game and play !!! |
well..your machine is fine to run the game, but the only weak point is your gfx card, they said 7900 is the minimum card to run the game and thats right that you have 7950, but..yea..probably it's not enough or maybe in few days nvidia will release updated driver. i am sure you will play the game soon with no problems. |
