Since this is a GoW thread, one'd assume I talk on topic from time to time, so GoW.
One'd also assume people check before they post, and checking people would know UT3 is not a G4WL game, and that Sega game G4WL keys.

Lan is possible, so Hamachi is theoretically possible. Practically, it has many problems (with Hamachi).

People seem to forget easily, but Epic never talked about a PC port when GoW was coming for the Xbox360 either. It is basic marketing. By "excluding" the PC before release, they will sell more on the 360, and potentially also increase hardware sales for Microsoft, their publisher. There's also a potential extra sale if they announce it for PC down the road with extra features, like they did with GoW1.
I am pretty sure they will port it to PC eventually.

It's not that big a loss, especially considered they couldn't be bothered to make a proper version for the pc but a port and then they wondered why noone wanted to buy it. Or why the reviewers didn't like it, go figure.

Really? Cuz mine works fine. Granted, the MP server browser sucks.
I'll likely grab GoW2 on 360 anyway, despite the reduced graphic quality, it'll be a lot more lively player-wise.

Won't be missing anything really. Couldn't really beat GoW since I found it very boring.

I got it for $18 bucks off of circuitcity.com. Figured I'd be an achievement whore and use a cheat or trainer and get my 200pts for beating it on insane.

Yeah, because they couldn't port the game good enough to gain more popularity and because GoW has so much competition on PC they decided to admit that they fucked up with GoW1 and don't port GoW2 >.<. Really, a masterpiece.
Either way, I won't be surprised if the same Blaszynski or whatever his name is decides to port the game to PC in few months.

The lack of guns is what turned me off. Especially no real dmg system. They almost forced you to use the machine gun since it was the only one who had a cool melee system.

Mmh, I'm finishing the first one for the first time and it would be really cool if they made a PC version of the sequel.

Game is boring.
All games have repetitive game play, but man, GoW really made the repetitive game play painfully obvious. Then there's the issue with your guns being set to stun and not kill.

Is that a G4WL problem? Because I don't remember any other protection than the key.

Could be now that you mention it, though I thought it used online activation but I suppose LIVE could have a few additional checks and things like this happening.
(Pretty silly to limit the expiration date by such a small amount though, what about those who purchased the game recently, why even have something like that in the first place for that matter.)

Hey, I'm with you on this. I don't see the point of time limiting at all, it's not like they are about to update it for years ahead and always require the newest version. Epic dudes also said they were surprised (as opposed to some marketing bullshit ala "we wanted to make sure the end users gets best experience possible, so we don't allow them to run the game at all" ), so it is probable some mistake on the devs side and will probably be fixed.
BTW, this issue could be looked as the plausible future of all the Securom online activation games. What happens when the company shuts down the servers? What happens if Securom closes down? I'm sure some developers will release patches for their games to remove the need for activation, but surely not all. So, instead of fighting with hardware incompatibility limitation (as what happens today with old games), it will be stupid software protection that will deny playing the games...

SecuROM is run by Sony, so it will be around for as long as they are (which'll probably be a loooong time).
