OK, another dumbass question: how can I possibly block files from using internet with windows vista firewall ? o.O
And, do I need to be offline to play the game?

How to use:
1) Copy the paul.dll, gtaiv.exe and Launchgtaiv.exe in your mainfolder
2) Copy the paul.dll also in your "Offlineactivation"-Folder
3) Open gtaiv.exe and accept the rockstar Terms of Use.
4) Play the game
NOTE: To solve the problem with the camera bug, turn down the resulution then restart the computer,
and then it works, at least for 6 six friends of mine and me!
Notes to Rockstar: hehehe... so, you spent 200k $ on protection and now i owned you. hahahaha !!!

Yep, 0x0008 release. Trust me, try my method and the lobo crack. Read what I wrote. Windows Live Updater with the link. Rename that .dll and it should work fine. Seriously tho, try my method. If mine and cox's method doesnt work, then play around with it. You'll get it. Search this thread if the methods dont work and find out what works and combine the different methods. Basically what i had to do.
And hell, Im no techie like cox ya know?

I actually got to play it with no problems for quite a long time passed few missions but the power suddenly went out 
I blocked every traffic with Kaspersky and launched Rockstar Social club in offline mod ( logged in with random stuff )
but yeah it worked I don't know if the problem will be back if I run it again tho

Go to the Control Panel/Security/Allow a Program Through Windows Firewall
Then do this
Worked for me at least.
And no, you don't need to be offline.
And be sure to skip the Social Club log in. Create an offline account in the Windows Live window when prompted. You only have to do it once, it will find your profile automatically next time you play. |

Got it working on my C2D 4500 @2.5Ghz, 2Gb Ram and ATI 2600XT(yeah, lol)
1024x768, textures and render on medium, but because of 256 shitty video memory View Distance can be put only on 2 xD
Still the game looks like shit comparing to FC2 and Crysis

i've been trying to adjust settings too, but since you can't just launch gtaivlauncher directly without going through Social first........ the -norestrictions command does not take effect.
no tweaking.
