There's actually two versions now.

This link leads to the LIVE installer which will first install the redist and then a frontend program to access functions like the recently launched "Marketplace"
(Currently there's nothing there but Fallout 3 will start with DLC's in January and those will be accessed via this system, GTA 4 is also rumored to recieve PC DLC's but no details are known at the moment.)

EDIT: Aside from the above things mentioned by PumpAction you'll need Rockstar Social Club and Windows Live, both can be used in a offline state to avoid using a serial number if you don't have one and Social Club doesn't actually require a key at all.

Okay, I understand, so I can play Crysis with medium graphs, on this rig: P4 3,2Ghz, 2gb RAM, GeForce 8600GT, but I can't play GTA 4 smooth on low, HOWEVER same fps on almost everything high (just texture low), and everything on lowest... WTF? Chris /P4 3,2Ghz/2Gb RAM 533Mhz/8600GT 256Mb/ "I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not!"

I'm right at the beginning of the game. The game runs really good on 1680x1050, everything maxed out. But i have a problem considering the lightning. The reflection of the light appears like artifacting. It's not properly displayed on screen.

Dude, it's not that hard. Just install the game, update live, copy the crack loader and play the fucking game. If it wants you to update something just agree to do it. Jeez.

I did, I only get that RSGC.exe is not running... ?!
didnt had framework 3,5 sp1 on my machine, now i do but still..

It's all shaders, independent of the API used.

Let's hope the patch makes things better.

I do not know if it has already been said but for everybody that complains about the visual quality of the game, next time while you are in the game press the button p from your kb - everything should look like XBOX version.

Yep the shadows/lights refraction for example on the ground just outside the taxi station u start in are blurry and fuzzy. Have same graphics card.

The graphics of this game are well done, pretty good, the game needs AA thats all, the jaggies make the game uglier. And the performance is crap. Inside houses you get more then 60 fps Outside in the streets you get 10-30 fps Btw theres anyway to use our own songs on the video editor?

anyone can please make an send me an commandline.txt ? i tested all know for 2 hours and no effect . graphics are very but i want to get it better i have q6600, 8800 gt OC, 4gb ram adn can play it only on middle, or is that normal with my specs?
