Dunno about your antivirus, but even the original game runs like shit. So like i said before you were banned : even with the full crack, it will be the same GAME experience, same shit. Don't expect another game. The game is badly programmed, and i'm surprised how you can defend Rockstar.

Have you ever considering that the problems are coming from the PORT itself and not the crack ? I guess not.

I think this port is like GTA III was, or not?

This port is just fucking horrible. I don't know who are the idiots that beta tested this game but it's really bad.

I'm not sure how much they can fix in patch, but they should give us more control over the graphics. Maybe if we take that shitty bloom and shadows we could play.

Kevin Hoare: We've done some improvements to the video editor and the rendering engine for the replay editor. We've added, again from feedback from the forums, we initially didn't support direct-input controller devices and people seemed to want that, so we added support for direct-input devices.

They didn't support 90% of gampads and only found that people want gamepad support for them on FUCKING FORUMS???

and onother briliant one:

texture drop out problem and I've been seeing what kind of hardware they have and it's usually the Nvidia 7900 series. We saw that problem two or three months ago and it was addressed by a beta driver that we received from them. Everybody was hoping that it would be out for our release but it seems we've just missed it.

so they knew of the problem 3 months ago and just hopped that nvidia would fix it with drivers instead of fixing it themself...

This port doesen't deserve a shit of my money, if I ever want to play MP i'll just buy some game with live mp and use its key here.

I play it with a 360 controller on PC and it's awesome. You can aim. Lock on and move the stick up and you can do head shots or shoot an arm to disarm them. It works great.

I also really like how the control tips change on the fly. If I pick up the controller it tells me I need to hit X, Y or the analog stick but if I hit the keyboard it switches to Enter, Space etc.

The phone is awesome too. Just calling people for fun. All the hidden numbers you can call etc. Jobs and taxis (something GTA SA needed BADLY).

The Jamaicans are fucking awesome. I had to turn on subtitles to understand them, wish I had that in RL heh. Brucie is insane too. Ice cold motherfucker!

It's just a shame that the graphics settings are so screwed and its so infested with DRM, otherwise I would be very tempted to support them. I can deal with LIVE, I like it.. profiles and achievements.. but fuck this Social Club and fuck SecuROM with online activations.

This might sound strange but my keyboard doesn't work at all in the game.
None of the key bindings work. Alt-F4 and other windows combos like that work, but when I try to drive the car at the start it just stays there without moving.
Tested with 3 other keyboards and it's the same story with all of them.

Intel C2D E6400
4GB Kingston DDR2 800
Club3D 8800GT 512MB with nVidia 180.48 drivers
Windows Vista x64

Using ePen15 release with the Fedor loader.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

You are right, this deserves much lower. It doesn't matter what the intentions of the devs were, or how good the other versions are, this is a bad port and Rockstar deserves all the bad publicity.

BTW, it's good to see mainstream sites like IGN, which almost never comment on bad performance and bugs (unless it's on consoles) also talk about this. The more people hear this port is crap, the less people will buy it.

Why not? It works at the same time, why not use it? If I'm done driving, I put away the controller and take keyboard + mouse, thats 2 seconds.

the engine of this game does not support AA, no point in forcing it.

How do you get the ammo counter back for weapons? It was working yesterday but I dunno what I changed (nothing that I know of) that made it disappear. It's not unlimited. I can shoot all my bullets but I can't see how many I have left before that happens.

Ah someone posted elsewhere it's a problem with the new drivers. Anyone else using 180.84 that noticed this?

Yeah, it seems R* really dropped the ball on this and the Bully port. But I am yet to be disappointed by one of their games (gameplay, story, presentation-wise). Maybe Manhunt 2, but I should play it more.

What kind of CPU is necessary for Rockstar's game?
Continuation: GTA 4 (PC): CPU benchmark review with 13 processors

GTA 4 (PC) - Summarization
The PC version of GTA 4 has CPU power for breakfast - independent on clock speed, L2 cache or number of cores. The latter ones are very important, because without quad-core power GTA 4 is noticeably less enjoyable. For example: A Q6600 is about 52 percent faster than the dual-core E6600 when both CPUs are running at 2.4 GHz. If the clock speed is increased, the difference gets smaller, but is still huge and a QX6850 is 47 percent faster than an E6850. Dual-core processors have a serious disadvantage and only with 3.6 GHz an E8500 is able to beat the Q6600, but GTA 4 nevertheless suffers from frequent lags on dual-core systems - no matter if an AMD or Intel CPU is used. The Phenom X4 9950 easily passes the Q6600 and theoretically is on the same level as the Q6700 (not included in the benchmark).

AMD's Athlon 64 X2 6400+ is doing fine compared to the E6600 and beats Intel's Conroe CPU, while the X2 5000+ is equally fast. A single-core CPU is unsuitable and only reaches single-digit results and additionally the game freezes and the animations of the characters is running in slow motion sometimes. Increased L2 cache results in about 8 percent more fps.

GTA 4 (PC) - Processor benchmark review: Conclusion

GTA 4 benefits from quad-core CPUs as no game did up to now. Even a 4.0 GHz E8500 is not able to compete with a quad-core that has 25 percent less core frequency. Both, the K10 and the K8 architecture are doing quite well.
