Some of us have played the game on 360 mate... So the point is that we don't have to redo everything.
But what do you mean with NVsync? Just using vsync? Or is nvsync something else? |

I'm officialy quiting. I'm not playing this game anymore. After about 2 days of tinkering with drivers, windows and the game itself, I give up. On A C2D 4400 @2.7 GHz, 2 GB, and a 8800 GTS, and with every graphic setting set to low and the resolution 800x600, the game still has the nerve to drop the frame rate to single digits. Not all the time, but usually in critical situations, like car chases or shooting. My rig can handle Crysis on medium but it's not capable of fluid gameplay in GTA IV on the lowest settings?
Thanks but no thanks Rockstar, not again anyway.

Game has some serious memory leaks. Hopefully the improve memory handling in the patch will address it.
No matter what settings, high or low, I can play flawlessly for 1-2 hours, then it starts stuttering, drops textures etc. A restart clears it up evertime. Classic memory leak behaviour.

Well people have reported about the game using over 3.6 GB of memory on 4GB systems plus most of the available GPU memory after playing for a while, this appears to be one of the things improved in the patch though.

I have 4 GB on x64 XP and GTA 4 is installed C: with 70 GB free space left *silly game*

try typing "winver" in your run menu

Where are the savegames stored ? Cause i have no folder on AppData/ Rockstar Games...etc, and iam having the issue with graphic settings reseting everytime. thx

create a file named "comandline.txt" and place it in the install directory. then use the commands listed on the first page of this topic.
don't know about the save games.

Installed it, runs perfect!! Here is what I have.and did...
Geforce 8800GT, E6650 (Duo2Core at 2.33ghz), XP SP3, 3GB of memory (think that is helping me most)
Installed as per Razors info directions, game settings was set at HIGH at 1680x1200 res automatically. Game runs perfect. I actually have the game minimized now while typing this. I did have to close newzbin (game was stuttering while downloading which happens in other games).
Skip the social club, create an account oFFLINE in order to save it. So far, Im watching TV now in my cousins room..hilarious!!!

If you manage to turn off bloom I'd like to know how you did it. Can't understand that file.txt editing scheme.

Ok, this is for all u who just cant find the time reading the thread but keeps on asking the same thing over and over!!!
1. Create a file called commandline.txt and save it inside the Grand Theft Auto IV install folder. Same folder as all the *.exe files!!
2. In commandline.txt file put: | Code: | | -noprecache -nomemrestrict -norestrictions -height 1024 -width 1280 -refreshrate 75 -texturequality 0 -renderquality 2 -viewdistance 0 -shadowdensity 0 |
3. Save commandline.txt
4. Launch the game with GTA.IV.Crack.Securom.Bypass.Launcher.UBER-PROPER-FeD0R
If u want higher resolutions and/or settings edit the commandline.txt file accordingly.
Drivers:
To edit visualsettings.dat u need the following:
I use the first method and not the loader. The loader doesnt seem to work well with fedor loader. duh...
