Pacman had a FAR less resolution, and is STILL fun.

Starcraft also had crap resolutions by today's hi res standards, and again, it's an awesome game.

Ya can't judge a game by it's resolution.

This game is hard starting out. Your ship sucks, your weapons suck, you're slow as hell, so you can't kill anyone.

Just do the random missions, especially Ground Combat.. they pay quite a bit and it's pretty much all down your skill as an RTS player (and knowing what droids/vehicles to build Razz) which should give you time to earn enough cash for ship upgrades.

The game IS hard, but thankfully it's not punishingly so. Welllll.. unless you go running after Dominators, in which case -- it's your funeral ^_^

I wanted to buy it, but no resolution above 1024x768 in a 6 month old 3D game addon is unacceptable.

Your loss.
This game is in my top 5 best games of all time list.

One of my best gaming experiences ever. A freakin Text adventure, RTS, Space trading/fighting RPG, and arcade game . . . all rolled into one collective ball.
When you get thrown in prison it actually becomes an honest to goodness text adventure game.
One of my most memorable space missions was having to escort a ship that was carrying the cryogenic frozen body of Elvis Presley to a remote planet.
The RTS part is simplistic, but its still amazing how it fits into the whole.
Then you have an arcade game when you enter the worm holes.

The way i made money was going around and collecting asteroid ore till I was able to upgrade my ship some. It can be hard starting out but it is worth it imho.

Ground combat is easy. Build one robot, 4 missile launchers and a mortar. Give him fast legs
you can obliterate most just outside their range and take out turrets
take a healer with you maybe 2

Those text missions are the best I've ever played, the submarine is my favorite one once I did it from the first try, you actually get a lot of money for that one because it's kinda hard.

Tomorrow is the last day of the sale guys. If you're "umm'ing" and "ahh'ing" -- best make up your mind quick, because you'll not find this Complete set for $4 anywhere else.

I've always wanted to play this and for £3? How can I say no. Resolution is going to be a problem, but nothing I can't live with. Good job I noticed this thread in time.

Hah!

Judging by how strong they are in the game, I'd say that if it were the Dominators.. the very forum would be on fire Razz

It's real, once you uninstall the game.

Aye, that's happened twice to Skidrow games now. Another was, if memory serves, the NoSteam rip of Left4Dead. Uninstalling it WIPES your Windows\Fonts folder.

Heh, ouch.

That's the recommendation I read elsewhere too. Before uninstallation, copy the FONTS folder, uninstall, paste back.

A few people found out the hard way and couldn't boot back into Windows, hehehehe.

I know this is offtopic, but what is up with that font-deleting deal ? Does it happen with the original sccene releases or are they p2p-screwed ?

Also, what does font deleting have to do with a "virus" ?

P.S.: Anyone remember the test drive unlimited uninstallation ? It wiped C:\ , lolz, and the patch didn't fix it.

Nah, it's a "Skidrow only" deal. Guess they fucked up with their packing and installing methods, as it doesn't happen with the retail release.

LOL! I remember that shit with TDU. Remember the cock-up with EVE Online's "Trinity" upgrade? Installing it wiped the C:Windows directory, lmfao!

Wanna add another 'good find' to this thread. Just purchased and dl'ing now. Will go great with the 5.99 purchase of another TBS classic, Fallout Tactics from www.gog.com. Think I had both dl'ed at one time or another but so much better to have the real deal. Feels like an early, cheap xmas for myself Very Happy
