Looks like a better looking Fallout 3 if you ask me. Bethesda ought to hire the model, texture, and animation guys who did this.

A remake of the classic Terminator Future Shock (and Skynet) is all i ask.

The arcade Terminator 2 game (played it on PC) was also good - following the scenes from T2 movie.

Terminator 2029 wasnt all that good IMO.

Screens from some Terminator game, from the looks of it the game was running on a console hooked up to a standard resolution TV and the images captured a cheap camera with that light effect enabled (Whatever it's properly called, exposure something or flash something.)

Game looks pretty nice to me. And the developer has a good track record, as far as I'm concerned, with Ballistics, GRAW (PC versions), the fantastic Bionic Commando Rearmed, which was one of my favorite games last year, as well as the incredible looking new Bionic Commando, and the decent-looking Wanted game.

VGAdeadcafe wrote:
Great, another generic "unreal powdered" console cash-in.

This isn't Unreal Engine, and the developer got it's start strictly as a PC developer, and a good one at that, IMO.

sabin1981 wrote:
It was the UE2 for the PS2/Xbox ports, Diesel for the PC one and something called "Yeti" for the X360 .. lol.

Guess they had a FEW engines Very Happy

GRIN didn't do any versions of GRAW/2 other than the PC versions. They had nothing to do with the console versions. GRIN only works with with their own in-house Diesel engine.

am i the only one seriously bummed that they ditched the perpetual night thing?
it was so atmospheric in all the earlier games and movies
just seems like a completely dumb move without any good sides
even effects become more costly when you can see shit so clearly

"While I was expecting a Gears of War clone, when I sat down to play a few levels of Terminator Salvation, I discovered something a little different. Though the levels are linear, the combat tends to have a more dynamic feel to it than most cover shooters. None of the battles I fought followed the traditional pattern of your character slowly progressing forward through cover and taking out lines of enemies that are also behind cover (seemingly awaiting an impending headshot). Instead, Salvation battles are "in the round," so to speak."

Yet another random thing that sabin hates for no discernible reason. Rolling Eyes There seems to be hardly anything that you don'y hate, so I think maybe you're just in the wrong hobby, dude. Wink

Sabin, sure, it's a prequel to the new movie, but it's a sequel (chronologically) to all of the other Terminator movies. Chill out.

It's a faster GoW.

The way they describe sounds pretty different from Wanted, as well.

By the way, GOW is just a faster RE4 (with more heavy weapons). We could go down this road all day, dude.

I found out the hard way (by taking many bullets to John Connor's pretty little face) that ignoring the cover system gets you dead fast. There's an interesting arched HUD overlay that shows the varying options for cover, allowing gamers to easily identify where they will attach to the moment they hit the cover button.

It's a cover spam indeed.

So not only is it a cheap cash-in on another movie, which in itself is a slap in the face to Terminator fans everywhere (A Terminator takes John Connor's place at the end! They put John's skin on!! ZOMG!! AWESOME!! Rolling Eyes) but it's a blatant GoW rip-off AND it's a prequel?

Fuck me, the levels of awesomeness that this game exudes are just too much.

Srsly.

=Edit=

And yes, I know "they" changed that ending after it was leaked on the net ... but considering that it was originally how "they" thought the ending should work, well, it just shows the pure failure this movie is going to be (Yes, I can see into the future. Fuck you) and I don't give a shit if Christian "Fanboys wank to me" Bale is in it either.
