|
 |
Quote: | Stephen Norrington has signed on to write and direct a reinvention of The Crow, based on the comic created by James O'Barr, says Variety.
Ryan Kavanaugh's Relativity Media is negotiating with producer Ed Pressman to acquire the film franchise and finance the film.
Pressman produced the 1994 Alex Proyas-directed adaptation, in which rock musician Eric Draven (Brandon Lee) is murdered trying to rescue his girlfriend from thugs, and returns from the dead one year later to exact vengeance.
For Norrington, The Crow deal marks the end of a long screen sabbatical. After making his breakthrough with Blade, Norrington took on a big-budget comic transfer with The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Neither the director nor his star, Sean Connery, has made a feature film since.
"Whereas Proyas' original was gloriously gothic and stylized, the new movie will be realistic, hard-edged and mysterious, almost documentary-style," Norrington said. |

Yes, but then some of them suffer from low budget and not as good acting, which IMO hurts the experience.

Nope, doesn't. My point from the start was that there shouldn't be as many remakes and reboots.

They should just continue with the story of crow. Another low life motha fucka watches his g/f / finance get raped beaten and murdered and he's tossed out some window or shot dead, returns a year later to get his revenge. They should do that. Why remake it? The crow had soo many spin offs, so many sequels... it won't hurt having another shitty story line.

Why remake a great, unique, only 10 year old movie? Why stomp on Brandon Lee's memory? Shoot me now, before they decide to remake Dark City as well.

I agree there are similarities, but it's not a ripoff. Many times the guy is comparing shots like apples to bananas (he clearly has too much time on his hand).
No doubt that Matrix has gotten inspiration from many existing places, but what it does it does well.

+1
Also, the soundtrack kicks butt! STP, 9Inch Nails, The Cure etc. |
haha, yeah man! The sound track was bad. Big Empty while he staps that dude in the car and drives it off the dock is a perfect tune.
One of my fav movies...aside from the movie content, the soundtrack was awesome and music can make a movie better.
To bad you dont live in Canada bud, my only rocker bud moved to Vancouver and I have no one to go to concerts with.

Well in Poland there is another problem - no fucking shows! I only saw AIC once and it was the reunion tour recently. It was nice to see Jerry, Sean and Mike but i miss Layne Still, the songs were awesome. What a fucking BLAST!
The second show i remember being awesome was the Queens Of The Stone Age on Lullabies to Paralyze tour (2004) - great memories. I spoke to every one of the band - not that "star" type dudes, normal cool guys. Besides that there ain't no good shows in Poland. Maybe apart from the Stones or Metallica.
I envy You, Syco! I also wish i lived in Canada. I even considered moving to Canada, but i got a decent job now.
