No camera on indoor maps like the first one: Moria, later maps have camera rotation.

@thudo, thanks for posting that man.
My friend behind the router managed to get through that and now we can play over battleLAN just fine.

Use the numpad arrows, and use numpad-5 to reset.
And, is it possible to turn up the number of units allowed in a MP game?

Can you please explain how your colleague got it to work through a Router/NAT? What was his brand of Router? Any Port Forwarding? Did he get it to work using my 10point instructions or another method?
Please elaborate where ya can!

Here's what I know:
His router is a Linksys BEFSX41.
We had him forward ports 8088 through 28088, these were mentioned with the game README.
I copied and pasted your post to him and he just ran through the steps.
He runs battleLAN 0.5 and adds my IP, hits start.
Then he loads the game, hits network, and starts a game.
I'm on a pure connection so I don't have to do anything relating to a router.
However, contrary to the readme, I have to run battleLAN too.
I type his IP in, hit add, then hit start.
I run the game and click Network. His game shows up and I hit join.
Works like a charm. We've already played about 5 games that ran real well.
I'm not sure if it'll work if both players are behind routers, we'll try that later.
Hope that helps.

Brilliant! We have just given hope to millions who could never possibly get any game out there running through a Router/NAT due to programmer incompetence! This is huge as the original Generals/ZH would not work whatsoever through a Router/NAT unless u were frick'n lucky (I never could at all for years and had to go direct connect to the high-speed modem)!
So my question is: what happens if yer bud DOES NOT forward ports 8088 through 28088? Still works? No matter though as the hard part has been done. Not only does the game get seen in simulated LAN over Internet BUT it can be joined with minimal impact to the gameplay! Fabulous! Now I have to get the theory working myself in an actual game with da buds!
Btw, Damn that was a fast reply.. then again yer moderating the forums so..

Well I tried to setup the DMZ + WAN IP on my machine, but as soon as I set it up it says there's a conflict with another device on my network.
If I run an ipconfig I get this:
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 0.0.0.0
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 0.0.0.0
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.3
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.0.1
So I guess my comp is conflicting with my router???

Yea thats not right as I just looked at mine..
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 70.xxx.xxx.xxx
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.254.0
IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.254.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
I'm running behind a Linksys WRT54G with that 10point workaround. Wait.. did you do the workaround or just your bud? Something isn't right. Recheck yer settings in TCP/IP/Advanced or go back to default, reboot, then redo 10point settings. Should work peachy!

Well, usually I am just on a clean connection.
But just for a test I hooked up behind my router and followed those steps. Everytime I would finish and hit apply, it would error and say I was conflicting with another device.
My buddy did his fine.
I have a shitty router I guess though, oh well no big deal.

Got my copy on the way for Christmas.
Agreed, very good game, although I think Gandalf is overpowered. The Witch King sucks for 8,000 gold and can die in one hit to Gandalf.

Well.. I don't get it sTo0z... we couldn't get it working Network with BattleLan 0.5 ! ! What gives? Tried everything we could think of.. I'm behind a Linksys WRT54G Router with the ports opened, in the DMZ, workaround activated and I can't even see my colleagues in the lobby. Both of them are direct connects but when they try to create a game themselves it times out! Grrrrr! F*ing EA being such asses again with utter sh*t netcode! Figured it would work as it works for you as the 10point workaround says. Bahhh!
I just don't bloody get it!!

Assuming all of your port forwarding and DMZ/IP settings are correct:
Player A = game host
Player B = game client
Player A runs battleLAN and types in Player B's IP. Hit Add. Hit Start.
Player A runs B4ME. Choose Network. Choose Create.
Player A is now waiting in a hosted game.
Player B runs BattleLAN and types Player A's IP. Hit Add. Hit Start.
Player B runs B4ME. Choose Network. Game should appear in list.
Hit Join, have fun.
Did you do things in the proper order?

The only thing that wasn't done right, now I think of it, was my Port 6112 was only forwarded to UDP instead of both TCP/UDP. BattleLan needs Port 6112 with TCP/UDP active. Otherwise.. shheshh.. all looks as it should. Strange though as my fellow colleagues were both direct connect (well.. one of them was initially behind a router then went DC..).. guess we have somethin to try tomorrow just to test..

Easiest thing to is to use daemon tools or an equivalent, just mount the image and install.
Burning is a waste of time and money in my opinion.

Anyone got MP working with more than 2 players? Runs fine with 2... but with 3rd it keeps timing out and kicking one of the players out during start-up.. using BattleLAN 0.5...

noxbenton.. What Router ya using? Which Ports forward? Are you all DirectConnected or someone on a Router? Did you need to do the 10point workaround mentioned 10 messages above or no? Remember, Dawn Of War has an issue with 3+ players and routers.. If anyone has a Router one cannot connect more than 3 players to a game UNLESS they preform the 10point workaround. Screwy? You bet! Just curious about your network topography? Further, did u try Gaming Internet Tunnel v.98 ?
