You seem to be the one smoking crack here, pardner Very Happy Nobody said DMC4 was bad, neither port job nor game .. they said, and rightly so, that DMC3 and RE4 were bad ports -- and they were. They were awful.

RE4 was fixed with official updates/addons and a shitload of fanmade mods -- but the port itself was horrible.

Lol I still remember how bad the game was without the official patch (the one that introduced the lightning...in every sense).
Anyway, even if RE serie isn't my favourite, I really hope RE5 will come to PC too, since its engine IS built and tested on PC (and the DMC4 eye-candiness proves it).
Too bad Capcom is still complaining about the poor DMC4 PC sales, not considering that the DMC4 genre will never be so appealing for PC users..
If they'll indroduce a proper mouse support for RE5, I swear it will be different. Rolling Eyes

Yeah, I still can't believe Capcom allowed it to be released in such a state. The official patch worked wonders Smile

Of course! A pretty large one too ... it tidied up the textures and added a complete lighting system. ALMOST rivalled the Gamecube, but not quite. Was, however, several billion times better than the PS2 one.

Here's the list of what I have installed -- to make this the ULTIMATE Resi4 (well, except from the Wii version -- and minus the GCs gorgeous lighting!)

Laser Tweaker. No more unsightly, thick, weapon laser.
Essential 1.10 Update Patch. Adds the official lighting and texture upgrades.
Texture Pack Update. 1.2GB of upgraded textures.
Beefier, more realistic gun-sounds. Speaks for itself! Upgrade those piss-weak "pop gun" sounds Wink
Enhanced Cut-scene movies. Essential to remove horridly poor quality movies. 1.6GB
PS2 Button Icons. Essential. No more "press 7 and 8 to dodge" Now it's the default PS2 action icons (ie, X/Square/Circle/Triangle/Trigger Buttons)Smile

Default PS2 controls:

L1 = Ready Knife
R1 = Ready Gun
Select = Pause/Options/Movie-Skip
Start = Inventory/Notes Menu
Circle = Command Ashley
Square = Run/Cancel (and Reload when used with R1)
Triangle = Map
X = Action/Fire
Left-Stick/D-Pad = Move
Right-Stick = Camera/Zoom

Here are the animation packs. Not essential, they just change how Leon moves and performs. Good for those that have seen it all before - and want something new Wink Remember to read the instructions PROPERLY - these are easy as piss to install .. but you need to READ to prepare the mods for installation.

Kick Pack. Changes how Leon kicks away enemies. (Roundhouse FTW!)
Jump Pack. Changes how Leon jumps down/across gaps. (Somersault!)
Explosion Cover Pack. Changes how Leon avoids explosions. (Backwards Somersault!)
Door Kick Pack. Changes how Leon kicks open doors. (Roundhouse FTW!)
Upper Kick Pack. Changes how Leon kicks out of an enemy's grasp. (Crescent Kick - Like Guile/Charlie Very Happy)
Lower Kick Pack. I'm not sure what this changes. Lower kicks? Hm.

And here's some screenshot links.

To me it seems like CD Project is the publisher and not the developer but it'll probably end up as a OK title on the PC platform.
(Similar to Lost Planet and DMC.)

why use developing and cd projekt in the same sentence? The game is only what, 2 months away, they won't be developing anything.

No mouse aim = crap.

I'm also not pleased with how they still haven't evolved into shooting while running. For fuck's sake, these aren't zombies anymore. Evolve your gameplay Capcom. Why can't you run and gun at the expense of accuracy?

Oh that's right. No mouse aim.

And where did you get your info that this game won't have mouse aim? Or is it just speculation because RE4 didn't?

I'm sure there was enough whining to make them see straight now. Wink

It's my excellent prediction skills.

In fact, if this game has mouse aim, I will stick a pen up my ass. You can keep a pic of this post actually if it does have mouse aim and want to remind me.

I don't think it needs mouse controls. I want it to play the way it is designed to be played, so I will use a gamepad.

Unfortunately, most of you still don't understand why not every game is made to be played with WASD and a mouse. I swear, you guys will probably bitch about Street Fighter IV not having mouseaim...

What? Why? That's stupid. You're being silly.

Street Fighter IV isn't meant to be played with anything but a joystick controller.

I play all king of fighters and cps1/2/3 emus with keyboard far better than with a game pad.

So are people who complain about RE not having mouseaim.

And RE4/5 isn't meant to be played with anything but a dual-analog gamepad.

just because you like it better with a gamepad doesn't mean everyone should be forced to play it the same way.
i have a gamepad but i played dead space, silent hill and re4 with mouse+keyboard.
because i like it better that way.

No. Capcom not including mouse aim as well as the ability to shoot while running is just being archaic in their game design which is stupid.

Problem with the keyboard with Capcom's fighting games is the fucking 360 and 720 degree movements they have which are quite silly. For KoF, a keyboard is fine, though it's kinda tough to really play good with a keyboard on KoF XI since they upped the speed of the game, and being accurate with movements is a bit tough.

Oh come on!!
RE with mouse aim would be just too damn easy...
Them zombies or whatever look how much time you have to aim and shoot... A PS2 controller was waht I found to be the best and most entertaining controller for RE4.

so the best way to balance the difficulty would be to cripple the controls,eh?
how about spawning more zombies and letting people headshot them with the mouse? Very Happy
