On 1280x720 it looks the same.  I love it too, even bought it despite the stupid securom.  Not every console game is bad, nor is every port.

Hahaha the 360 is 1280x720-10-30-30-30, and under these settings it never crashes on any card.

Isn't that one animated as well, haven't checked all the signs in that area (There's a lot of them.) but I noticed that one switching from games to music and then movies.
(Guess the company name is Pirate.)
Seems modding is going quite well now with all sorts of utilities and programs available, even a few trainers have been made though unfortunately those affect MP gaming as well.
Will probably be a while until really interesting modifications can be produced though, changing the terrain, adding stuff to the map and such.

Yes but use the new patched GTAIV.exe and not the one included with the Razor1911 crack.

I mean, install the game, patch it with the update and then just copy the two files from the crack to the install directory, 1911.dll and LaunchGTAIV.exe

fuck, the game was working perfectly but after the patch i used the previous razor crack with gtaiv.exe and now im getting ws10 error even after patch reinstall and using original files

The crack for version 1.00 works with 1.01. No need to even apply the crack again. Just install, apply 1.00 crack, install patch, play.

A friend of mine bought an hp pavillion with 4GB, 2x2.533Ghz T9400, GeForce 9600M GT, 17" and 2x300GB HD for just 1000€ I'm sure that he can play this game at least @ xbox360 graphics

I seriously doubt that.
That CPU is pretty good, but it's only a dual core proc and the 9600m GT is closer to a desktop 9500GT than a normal 9600GT.

I don't know if anyone already pointed this out but my non Xbox360 gamepad now seems to work on the game ever since the patch. I found this out when my son decided to pick it up while I was playing and well you can imagine what happened.

guess they realised it was futile to try limit them when a hack appeared almost immediately

Ok, I just upgraded from a 1900xtx to a 4870 and......huge difference.....in OTHER games
I am re-aquiring GTA4 right now, because my old 1900 wouldn' trun it i got an error when trying to launch the game
Can someone just briefly explain what all i need to do besides upgrade to the newest patch/crack
are there any hot fixes that are notable?

According to a Hard OCP performance tests with the game, the patch somehow improved the framerate but mostly at high resolutions and using uber hardware(GTX280 and 4870x2).
