What do you do?
Laughing not to mention a stone in my gull bladder.

So I go to the doctors like planned.
First time in 5 years. It's all lol and stuff.
They didn't get my results so i'm like I'll wait.

They ring me back in and the doc is arguing with the nurse
he can't have hep a b or c he doesn't look like a drinker.
At this point i heard hep a b or c and im freaking out.
asked me if i've been to mexico. I say no.
Asked me where I'm from.
So... more blood tests tomorrow.
To check for sure which it is. Sad
An operation on my gull bladder soontime.

Life is just peachy.


Step a) no more drinking
Step b) no more drinking
Step c) no more drinking

Rinse and repeat.

Sux4you. Oh and gull bladder stones ftl. My family has a history with em on both sides (mother&father). Had my first one a couple of months ago, took a week to piss the little fucker out. Hurts like no tomorrow. And it will happen with more frequency as I get older Sad My dad is at the point where he's pissing 2-3 of em out every year Sad

Any strain of Hepatitis has nothing to do with drinking (a can be contracted orally, b and c are bloodborne and can be caught from sharing needles Wink) Decreased liver function however can be an outcome of either hepatitis OR chronic alcoholism.

You can get a series of liver function tests over a series of time while not drinking to see if the situation improves.

And there is no 'if' to hepatitis anything, again a simple blood test should give you the answer.

So I'd guess damaging your liver from drinking is a MUCH more likely scenario (not necessarily and not probably long term damage either). Also most liver damage from hepatitis tends to be over 10+ years, most carriers don't even know they have it.

if the stones are big enough that they have to be removed surgically shouldn't you be in a hell lot of pain?


soo a lil bit of googling i got the transmission types for the 3 hepatitis cases Very Happy
Hep A is (at least in most countries) mostly transmitted by seashells
Hep B transmitted by blood or sexual contact (and it's rather "hard" to transmit)
Hep C dirty needles, piercings, tattoo-equipment etc.

so i suppose you could suffer from any of those 3 types, although Hep C seems rather unlikely, but then again there could be a whole lot of different reasons for whatever they found. Then again tests can be wrong sometimes so *shrug* wait and see Smile i hope the best for ya

I got a liver function test as part of a regular check up ... some markers of decreased function were slightly elevated, but I never went back for a confirmatory test Razz

here you're not allowed to attend public school without a hep b vaccination... so Waldo you must have gotten one (it was implemented when I was starting in high school in the stone ages aka mid 90s)

actually most "mandatory" vaccinations given to young people are not really mandatory per se, just mandatory if you want to attend public school.

so why didn't you go see a doctor when it started? see, i never had them but my brother has and his are pretty small, in fact so small that they don't wanna do it surgical and he's in a shitload of pain (and he's no wimp)
but then again i myself am pretty reluctant to go see a doctor since i kinda ruptured that tiny space of skin that keeps your foreskin "attached"? yeah, sometimes hurts during sex but hell, as if i am going to let a doctor put a needle and/or scalpel down there? hell no... Very Happy

well when it first happened. couple months ago i was bed ridden. went to the er but had no health card so i went back home and laid in bed.

then again i was in bed for 14 hours Laughing

Then i went and go a health card.
And started seeing a doc.

Isn't hepatitis referring to just liver damage with the viruses being one of the possible causes and alcohol being another? The doctors are probably on a wild-goose chase looking for the virus while it might have been caused by drinking.

Whatever the cause it's a bummer alright. Sad

My uncle experienced sharp pain in his back, yellowing of the eyes. . . turned out he had sclerosis (spelling) of the liver and died 2 years later.

Course, he was stupid and didn't stop drinking . It wasn't a very pleasant way to go.
