What's the model of that projector? Display quality seems pretty nice.

Also nice room. You have the cellar all to yourself? And do you have some wine cooled down there as well?

Quick question: does Razor's ISO version also requires online check ath the end of installation, like 0x0008's version? Or they patched setup so the game can be installed completely offline?

(Yes I know that the game can be played completely offline, I ask about installation)

Thanks.

Razor version does do an online check just like the original copy.

You can download a patch (i think) from somewhere to get around it, think its on the Securom website.

Teniak, what settings do you run on 1080p (the internal shadows/reflection resolution I mean)?

Apart from the 1.1 patch a few weeks ago which didn't really fix much, there's been nothing. I've not encountered any problems as such, just really bad performance. Don't know if anything is going to fix that.

If you can handle it and know how to adjust it a bit then ENB can improve things a bit.

Other than that check the forums. Smile

(There's quite a few modifications available but aside from ENB I only used a texture replacement, quite big though at over 1GB but made things look a bit better than the default textures, can't find the thread now but it should be on the site I linked to above.)

This is the first game in the GTA series that I actually bought since the other ones were so damn good.

But GTA IV is a messy pile of bugs. I have a very decent rig that can play Crysis at high framerate and GTA IV looks like crap even at 800*600. I updated my video drivers, installed the patch released this week by Rockstar to no avail. To make matters worse, you have to use an Xbox controller to play, which I refuse to buy.

And get a load of this: you have to go online to save your progress.

What can I say? Being honest for once didn't pay off for me.

Using a Logitech Cordless Rumble Pad 2 on a top end of average rig at 1920 x 1080 and it works fine here.

Occasional graphical glitch but nothing that stops the game beinf the most fun i've had on PC in a long time.

I use keyboard and mouse to play, so no, you don't need a gamepad at all, and you can save offline, just make an offline profile.
Game is good, just make sure you've got your facts right before complaining.

I get the RESC10 out of memory issue now and then if I adjust settings above a certain threshold even though both Windows and the game itself reports that it doesn't use much memory.

Aside from that and some crashes due to LIVE protection when editing the game (Before it was properly bypassed.) I've had no major problems with it, latest LIVE loader gets rid of most other applications as well and I haven't had any problems with it.

Performance could be better but I don't find it all too bad, game definitely pushes most hardware more than other titles but Rockstar did increase stuff compared to the console edition so that's expected. (Unsure what the settings would be to compare to that version.)

There are other problems though such as having to micro-manage your "friends" with various activities and I find that there's not a whole lot to do in the game aside from missions.
(You can do some side activities though such as those activities with your friend or spend ages hunting those birds plus some side jobs from certain friends once they start liking you and some minor jobs such as vigilante or assassination.)

Overall I like the game and it's the only "recent" GTA title that I've liked.
(Recent titles being the GTA III trilogy and GTA IV, never completed the "trilogy" as I didn't like it all that much but I did beat GTA 1 and GTA 2 and am nearly done with GTA IV.)

Even though he's wrong about the saving and the xbox controller, he's still right that this game, is NOT good on the PC. Not even close. And it's been over a month since it was released... One patch, that ultimately didn't fix shit except for controller issues that shouldn't even matter since this game should be played with a mouse and keyboard on the PC.

They better release some fixes soon, or I'll never buy a GTA game again, just out of spite. And I know loads more will follow the same resolution.

Yes yes, some of you have great performance, zero bugs, but you're in the very small minority there. Consider yourself lucky.

Yes, the framerate needs some optimisation, but I can run it for the most part pretty well, and cosidering PCZone UK said in a preview that the keyboard controls were messed up and you'd need a pad, it's amazing how much easier I found it using M+K than I did the x-box version.
Speaking of the X-Box, the frame rates on that weren't great most of the time either.

Anyway, I finished it on PC, and for the most part I'm happy with the job they did when I see that abortion Saints Row 2 and it's PS2 grade graphics running wrse than this.
