Were there really side quests? All I recall is that you had the main quest and the "planets" to explore, find the base, kill everything and leave. It's been a long time since I've played it and the most vivid memory I have is how much those "planets" sucked.. Seriously I hated them so much... I still have nightmares.. But I just had to do them all because I just like doing everything possible in a game.

Now that I think of it, there may have been side quests along the main quest... But boy what does it say about the game design if what people remember most is those fucking planets! ARG! Evil or Very Mad

One "planet" bugged on me and I couldn't land on it when it clearly indicated a mission was on it.. Drove me nuts.

All that being typed; I'm excited about ME2. I hope they'll skip the "planets" this time around though.

Are you sure we are talking about the same game? This engaging story wasn't in the game I installed! Not to mention it felt like 90% of the things I killed in the game were those boring Geth. They dev's were certainly lazy when it came to making interesting enemies that's for sure how many times did they reskin that Geth Husk and present it as a new enemy?

The game also had no challenge whatsoever. I only died twice in the whole game and that's because on one of the missions I was fooling around with the APC fell off the side of a bridge and managed to get back on safely and it still counted as I died. The second time was just to recreate what the hell just happened because I couldn't believe it. Even Super Mario on the NES knows when I drop to my death or not and here is a modern game that has no fucking clue.

Not to mention having to go on those damn planets that was a real god damn chore. Also why the hell were so many planets uncolonized or simply had pirates on them when the galaxy is supposedly full of many types of intelligent beings able to space travel and colonize planets? Where the hell are the planets that they even colonized or even just their home planets? And that brings up another thing why the hell can we land on the moon but not Earth? Its fucking EARTH! Not only did I want to feed my curiosity of what a futuristic Earth looks liked but for christ sakes the galaxy was facing the apocalypse I think my own people on the home planet of my species deserves to be notified and I should have the respect to tell the leader/'s this face to face. But no you can't even land on Earth. You can land on planets without oxygen and planets that are full god damn open magma but you can't land on the fucking Earth!

Well that's you mate. I personally enjoyed it on normal, loved the story, and didn't have any qualms about slaughtering thousands of Geth ^^

Yeah, Mass Effect was awesome and I can't wait for 2 and 3.
You can't go wrong with BioWare, so I'm sure the sequels will be great.

I just hope it'll come out in 2009. I need it asap Smile

At least the mainland Europeans can buy it off Steam, though - It's still not available in the UK. Sad

Nice, maybe that will encourage groups to crack it (and DLC).

This was a really great game. Can't wait for the second part. It would suck if Bioware followed the path of Epic and don't release a PC version of the sequel.
