I guess it works just as well as putting leaves onto your helmet.

If you ever served in the army you know what the paint-your-face whole thingy is for right, the same reason this helmet states or to 'break' the outlines of your face this sentence says it all "to break up the distinctive outline of a helmeted head", yes it does work the thing about a round helmet is it's very distinctive even at long distance and if you are a terrorist or someone on patrol that is the thing you are looking for when searching for enemy soldiers, even if the enemy is in the dark or camouflaged but wears a rounded helmet you can spot him so when you don't want to be seen you will wear some camouflage paint and a helmet such as this one, of course you can wear a rounded helmet and put a bush on your head or branches or make a little boat out of a newspaper but this is more practical.

Yea, breaking up the shilluette for sure works, but I was wondering...the US or UK armies don't use this sort of headgear...must be an Israeli invention or?. Ok there are Ghillie Suits for snipers used by armies world wide, but this type of headgear must be unique. |

Actually I imagine the life vest is full of metal and mud and bricks. Lots of African fighters do that now since they cant afford real body armor. So laugh all you want, but I'd love to see one of you guys come up with something like that when stuck in the middle of Somalia.

Maybe but it will still breakup an outline of a helmet. At a distance, even in urban areas this might be enough, that is if the enemy doesnt have some high powered scope on his rifle (most of the IDF adversaries are low tech forces).

as long as you aren't ID'd as a soldier you're pretty much safe from a sniper / etc. why not dress them up as the enemy  create a series of suicide soldiers who'll dress up as the enemy, go in where the enemy is, shoot everyone up, even themselves, and poof...

its not hard nor expensive (for groups like Hamas and Hezbollah etc) to buy high powered scopes they can attach to whatever gun their guys are using.
Fuck, you can buy scopes for handguns.
Scopes dont come built into the gun. |
