Patches can't fix this kind of performance. |
what has a 30FPS cap to do with performance ? A FPS limit is either hardcoded (most often the case) or in cfg/ini (soft).

this time it's hardcoded , we can't change it by ourselves :/
besides the game runs around 25~ FPS most of the times anyway

It's not connected to steam in any way as far as I can tell. You don't need steam running to play or anything.

Looks like absolute crap unless dynamic lighting is turned all the way up, and this drops the framerate dramatically

Weird, for me the only setting that drops FPS dramatically is shadows, I can have the rest on max, including lighting.

I'd say that different video cards give different results and your core216 GTX260 should be able to handle most things easily seeing as it's one of the faster cards on the market aside from the overclocked GTX 280 models or the GTX 285.
(Didn't count the 295 as it's a dual-card SLI solution so that would be unfair.)
ATI might have problems with this title whereas NVIDIA might not, unsure as the game runs pretty well here but performance can be a bit unstable at times.
(Doesn't seem like the game uses Crossfire properly so ATI might need to do some driver work but what would that improve as performance is usually around 20 - 25 depending on where I'm at and what weather condition it is and max is 32 anyway, hehe.)
Beat the "campaign" yesterday and am now doing the final couple of activities, keep finding new ones though like basejumping (Ultor building finally found a use.) and flashing (Needs the flasher coat from one of the three "hidden" stores in the mall.)

I thought i had it working and installed tho drivers. But when I press the xbox button to...load(?) the controller, it loads, but it starts my xbox. I have my controller hooked up to my comp wired. Not wireless.
Now Im confused.
So please, again, someone who knows the solution, please provide it |
Are you using a wireless controller with the charge and play cable to attach it to the PC or are you using a standard wired controller?
Because the wired controller worked straight away for me. |
U were right. Bought a wired controller and it works perfectly and the driving is SOOO much better. Same with GTA4.
Glad I bought it. Cuz I have a wireless controller for the 360 with a charge pack that has the cord thingy to charge it and another controller with no charge pack that runs on batteries (and it eats batteries).
Now Im set for 360 controllers and a PC controller.
ty for the suggestion/remark

The wireless controller actually needs a seperate wirless adapter for the PC. It will never work with a charger cord.
So the general consensus is that this game sucks?

I like it. Its fun as fuck. Mindless fun, but fun none the less. Good to sit down and shoot ppl, rob shit, make your char badass, form a gang etc
I recommend it
What I'd love to see is a GTA-Saints Row combination game. Take the best elements of both...then you'd have a serious bad motherfucker of a game
Anyway, try it out. Worse that can happen is you dont like it. But if your like me and like it, you might buy it (I did).
But I recommend get a wired (not wireless) 360 controller for driving. The keyboard blows goats for driving.

Whats wrong with Wireless controller?
Just wondering. |

With a wired controller, you just plug it in. I went out yesterday and bought one just for the pc cuz both of my other controllers are wireless with the charge packs and I didnt feel like buying the adapter cuz my bud works at the store where i got the wired controller and it was dirt cheap, brand new.
Works like a charm now.

ok finally forced myself to try it out too. As far as I've played I dont like it. The char customization was good, but thats practically the only thing I've liked. Graphics suck, physics suck, performance major sucks, gameplay sucks, sounds suck. Cant really comment on the story because im not very far yet. I know it has lots of stuff to do but the things that suck ruin the whole experience for me.

I start to like this game more and more.
Theres so much you can do.
Now imagine if all this stuff was possible in GTA4.. That would be fucking epic.
I hate you.

Why in graphic options there's motion blur twice? They were so happy with the perfomance and decided to invent dual motion blur?

I think it is listed twice so you can turn it off if you are using one of the presets and you only see the second one when you pick custom settings.

New cheat codes, contains quite a few new ones like player appearance changing and other stuff. |
I could not get the character appearance cheats to work at all. I tried Shaundi and a few others. If anyone has any luck, any help would be appreciated.

As I understand it they're taken from a game file and as I haven't seen them before I do wonder if they were ever fully implemented.
EDIT: Haven't tested them myself yet but will try them soon and see what happens.

move the whole steam folder, as it is, to the other drive, not just the game.
