Any fix for running it through Steam? I like to have Steam Friends up to talk to ppl (saves alt-tabbing out for MSN), and ME is the only game I can't run through the Steam Window. (Btw, I bought the game, so not running the crackfix.)

For now at least it is an overall great title...The atmosphere reminds me a bit of a mix between Brave New World and some Strugatski novels.That vision of a compleatly sterile distopia that is simply so rotten on the inside that the only way to cover it is through adding more and more layers of control and "clearity".The sounds fit quite beautifully even if the music isn't anything special..And all of the levels are filled with those tiny details - graphical or enviromental that simply creat dimention to the atmosphere to the extend you forget you are playing(the bullet holes in solar panels in the second helicopter chase for example).The story is..well quite a reverance to the now "hip" counter-"conformism" subcultural tendencies , and rings of EA "lets make sure everybody likes it ,but we also get the 13+ category" but is still interesting/
The gameplay seems shallow in a way but the settings at least for now are varied enough to numb that feeling.Also, at least for me there are some slight hmm...level balance issues.At some point the track you get trough feels soo fluid and natural you almost sence a certain rythm.Then all of a sudden it breaks by a section of poorly chosen parts that don't allow you to gain any momentum at all and then the controls feel almost inadequite.Then all of a sudden you gain momentum again.And that quite breaks the feeling concidering it is a game about the "flow of motion"...The flows usualy have that little habbit of beeing constant and fluidly changing....
Also last but not least I have to ask:
Anyone else getting lockups ?
The game runs flawlessly and then all of a sudden it simply locks.Nothing works..not even a ctr-alt-del res or anything.I have to restart manualy.Usualy if I start playing again a new lockup appears sooner then the first one,but it isn't necceseraly so.A friend of mine said it was connected to a bug with Dual Core CPUs.Can anyone confirm if that is true?
Actualy I get those in some other games (Fallout 3 comes in mind).It is not accompanied by any slowdown ,so it is not the graphic card overheating(GF 9800).
I get them even after the patch...

Nice, fresh and good-looking new title. But it gets boring after 10 or so minutes of playing. The whole game is just jumping around. And is very short. Think it's 3-4 hours long.

Is there a way to change the language when you install?
For some reason my game always installs in German, and I can't find any option to change that...or?.

CaptainCox, as soon as the installation wizard pops, the first thing it does is prompting you to choose a language. And the game has only one pirate version available.

Hm not here. I get the boxes to tic "agree to blabla" but no selection of language. I have the "rld-mire" version

just finished the game:)
and as said above, it's nice idea and there is potencial in this one, but overall the game is not something special.
they could improove the combat system and at least in few level add more weapons options and relloading and to give the weapon better feeling.
graphic is nice and deffrent, but still can be aprooved.
in my case, uninstall and delete, one time was enought, but one thing i liked is that the game was short , i hate games that provide the same stuff and smir it on 15-20 hours..better be short and repeatetive than long and repeatetive:)

cox, i remember smth like this came up a few pages back. must be some registry settings you can edit to trick the installer into thinking your windows is installed in english.

Got it. In Vista x64 its in...
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\EA Games\Mirror's Edge"
Find "Locale" and change it from "ge" to "en"

You mean "anyone"?
Try the regedit trick, change to "es" or "sp" maybe.

in first level there are 2 pipes on a wall..i jump there and just keep falling .. how do i grab them ?
edit nm ... "e" (did they even mention that in tutorial ?)

I think that the idea is going through the game without using guns...Yes, it´s all about running, jumping, and disarm whoever is on your way. I find it fun, and online is really challenging (could have some more modes though). Nice game.

Is anyone else getting something weird? Since the patch+crack the button config stops working after maybe 2 minutes, then when I reset controls it looks like I switched from a US to EU keyboard and the other way around, for example forward (W) then turns to (Z) when I have to reconfigure it, then after a few minutes I have to change it again and it turns back to (W)... Is this another trigger or something?
