Anyway, there is no way for microsoft to know. Even if they did know, they wouldn't ban you from Live or anything just because you opened your xbox. There's nothing wrong with that.

Microsoft only bans you when they notice you have you box flashed.
I think most people get banned because they stupid , meaning they download or burn a game wich isnt out yet in store then update it if there is a update availeble and then they cry they are banned, mine is flashed for a year now and I never got banned cause I made sure to update only when I knew the game was actualy in store.
I got my Xbox flashed and sended it in for repairs last week , they sended it back yesterday (I prolly will have it 2 morrow) , mine is fixed BUT I dont know if they changed my DVD player cause if they did I need to reflash it.
But they did repair it , they prolly turned it on saw the RROD and opened it and changed motherboard , then tested it and thats it , they need to work fast cause 1 guy working on it prolly cost more a hour then to actualy go through a full test .
