Probably signed to the console. They do that sometimes. Stranglehold demo for example.

btw since I was too lazy to dl/ it on the X360, I only tried the PC demo : is the loading time on the 360 demo AS horrible as the PC version ? even when dying, you have to wait like 2min of loading, it's a shame...

On x360, it takes exactly 10 seconds to load (first load). I timed it Smile ENJOY!

Yeah just like consoles are to blame for the lack of graphical fidelity in every multi-platform PC game?

Well, the X360 still manages to provide 30fps at 720p on almost evey game (though I admit that the PS3 is a different story Wink )

The CPU and GPU have little importance with I am talking about, because without memory you can't do anything well. You end up with levels at the size of 1x1 meters with 256x256 or 512x512 textures and BLOOM/BLUR. BTW, in order to see for yourself, you can grab any port and use TexMod to see the exact size of textures.

The reason the consoles are so cheap is because game prices are so high, and console manufacturers take fees for each game released. So they lose money on the hardware but make up for it with games. This is the sole reason the hardware is so cheap.

This is true because the consoles have reasonable CPUs and GPUs. FPS is rarely directly dependent on memory.

Sorry for ending up with this, all I meant with my original post (10 seconds loading) was to set things straight, not trigger this debate.

iNatan , dunno why your loading is just a few seconds, but there it's clearly a minute at least... Maybe you have RAID hdd, that's why ? On a normal 7200 RPM SATAII HDD, it takes ages, that's all Smile

No way, if I had raids, I would not have had the annoying stutter here and there (but I hear from people it is there in the 360 as well?). I have a 7200 SATAII running Vista x64. I would have taken a video to show you guys, but I have already uninstalled the demo.

Nope.

I'm using one of these:
http://www.seagate.com/ww/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=e73e27fc60322110VgnVCM100000f5ee0a0aRCRD

The loading screen on the demo takes 10 seconds.

Get your facts straight. I have very very quick loading times on PC version of FEAR2 demo (just like iNatan). No RAID.

dammit, this is weird. Ok I believe you : maybe this is a problem with Win7 Beta 1 after all and FEAR 2 ? This is the only game on Win7 that takes ages to load though for some reason.
