The new games, expected to be released later this year, are "Need for Speed Shift," a first-person racing simulation for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360; "Need for Speed World Online," a multiplayer action-driving game for the PC; and "Need for Speed Nitro," an arcade-style racing game developed by EA Montreal for the Nintendo Wii and DS.

Kotaku ran an article based on the Eurogamer one stating Shift ( ... isn't that a Nissan? Neutral, didn't we learn from the naming of that vehicle already ) is 360, PS3, PC and PSP.

Eurogamer wrote:
Need for Speed: Shift will launch on PC, Xbox 360, PS3 and PSP this autumn - as will Need for Speed: Nitro on Wii and DS. Need for Speed: World Online will be released to the Asian online PC market this summer, before heading West in the winter.

Why am I quoting this. It's at the top of the article. More importantly, where did you get your quote? Very Happy

Just saw the following message on their website, so looks that the Ferrari Project is still alive and not part of the upcoming NFS title.

What does this mean for the Ferrari Project? Would be a shame for that to disappear after it was looking so promising.

We’re working hard to try to resolve some legal issues around the Ferrari title and hope to have some good news in the near future for you…

As long as a game is great, I could care less about EA's business. NFS is shifting in the right direction, and that is all that should matter. Smile

Some small details which I can't translate but there's a few car brands mentioned.

http://games.tiscali.cz/news/news.asp?id=31513&r=top

And more importantly some new screens including what looks like the American flag on wheels. Very Happy

http://games.tiscali.cz/clanek/screen.asp?id=13329

EDIT: More importantly for those who can't read the article that is, I'm sure it's very interesting on it's own based on the comment below.

Like changing wheather, 3 kinds of AI drivers etc.. 80 cars and you should be able to damage all of them.

Looks fantastic, but I think we've all been burned by NFS before, so I'll cautiously hope it is as good as it looks. Smile

Judging by the screenshots, this looks exactly like GRiD, as some of you already said. (I think.... )
And it even seems like the speedometer does finally work again. Yay!
Cockpit camera, how cool is that? Smile
Hope you can customize your car just like on the pictures, with diffusors and shit. Very Happy
I guess they dumped the whole team of Undercover which was crap.
Maggie Q didn't rescue the game.

This game has pretty big shoes to fill if it tries to be like GRID (which might be the case according to every new piece of info released).

Hahahaha Laughing

But come on guys, it's not really fair. Is every racer involving GT racing going to be compared to Grid? Razz Also, even if it was NFS: GRiD, if it is as good as Grid, and has some of the car licenses EA has and Codemasters don't, that's also good from me. Smile

You know, you may be half-way right. It looks like they took the Ferrari Project and rebuilt the cars and tracks for NFS: Shift. In either case it's looking sweet.

Compare this (NFS: Shift):

with this (Ferrari Project):

Lol, a better question would be, why don't they start making non-shit games, so we can stop making fun of them.
