Not sure what you mean there, as I tried both 360 and PC versions, PC looks better and alot less jaggy. That nasty blur is optional, performance is good on a decent machine, by good I mean it's better than 360 which is always stuck at up to 30 fps, where I run the game at 30+ fps at all times. Mouse aim is a joy, so are new multiplayer modes with 32 players. |
It's obvious what he means. Unless you have a kick ass computer you can expect a lot of difficulty getting GTA4 to run properly.

This DoW2 beta key really does work! And MP is really fun too!!
Hopefully it'll work forever!!

I'm getting a "SecuROM Launcher has stopped working" error when I try to launch the game after installing this: Grand_Theft_Auto_IV_v1.0.2.0_Update-RazorDOX
I'm on Vista 64 bit.
Anyone know what the problem is?

This solved it for me: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=214792
Basically you should uninstall any Visual C++ Runtimes and reinstall those that comes with GTAIV (in the redist folder). You most likely have x64 runtimes installed which confuses the SecuLoader and makes it crash.

Is there a workaround/fix for the new patch vs no PC's works in internet café's yet?.

I have been out of it with GTAIV. Can you help me out and tell which release I should give a go? I know there have been a lot of problems. I want to get the best release so I can then install 1.01 and 1.02 and give a try.

It's irrelevant which release of a game you get (all releases are the same two DVDs) as long as you get Grand_Theft_Auto_IV_v1.0.2.0_Update-RazorDOX you'll be fine.

It's impossible, because these games are not G4WL.

Have you applied the crack? Because this sounds like an error you might get when Securom is not installed properly, but the crack is supposed to not use Securom.

Yep, tried my DoW 2 beta key on GTA4 and it works (installed the game, applied patch, copied crack, typed my key - took a while to verify it - but it worked!).
Edit: Is there anything I can do about pixelated shadows? It's really fucking annoying.
