SSAO makes the image much more realistic in motion, but it cuts fps by 20-50% in this game)
Worked much smoother in Crysis.

Well, from what I understand you can create a profile and play online with the cracked version. So, no reason to give your money to the EA bastards. Razz

There's basically NO handling simulation. It makes NFS look like an advanced simulation. It plays like pure arcade, it handles like pure arcade and it's as boring as pure arcade.

maybe cause its a pure arcade racer? if you dont like it dont play it!

Yep! In the controls menu, just click an action and then press the corresponding button on your controller Smile

Nobody cares. Seriously. Go away already.

A mix of both, it's definitely VERY arcadey.

Hehe, another stereotype in the "fanboy" class. Instead of throwing fanboyisms at people answering specific questions you should go annoy your mother or something.

frant, never play outrun. you'd hate it.
although it's one of the most fun arcade racers ever and it's even more arcade-ish than burnout.
what you could do, though is take a look here, maybe it'll help you understand why an arcade racer doesn't have to be boring Smile

Glad I could help!

To anyone wondering how it handles; it's a mix of Ridge Racer and Flatout, with a bit of NFS. It's not sim-like in ANY way, it's pure arcade and handles thusly. If you want more realistic driving, try Grid else you'll be disappointed in this.

I played the original Outrun in the late 80'ies in arcade halls as well as Outrun 2 in the 90'ies. I've seen my share of simple arcade racers and I kind of grew tired of them. If they handle somewhat realistically and feels good to drive, then I'm all for it, but there's no handling whatsoever in this game. The steering and feeling is totally dead and flat as opposed to NFS: Underground 1 & 2 and Most Wanted.

heh, i'd rather play something with no handling at all than to have to play 3 days until i beat the first race (as it happened with grid) Smile

And that pretty much demonstrates how different our taste is. I loved GRiD, I really liked the NFS's before ProShit, I loved the ColinMcRae's (including DiRT), and I had hoped (after reading some hype) that Burnout would somehow take over after the defunct NFS franchise. That's why I downloaded it to try it out, and man am I glad I didn't buy this one. Definitely not my style.

i didn't say grid was bad. i liked it, otherwise i wouldn't have spent that much time trying to play it. i even managed to get passably-good at it too Smile

first of all nvidia is good but ati is great. Razz

i buy pc games for 2 main reasons:
first one is to be able to play them online.
secondly is because i want great developers to keep making games for PC for example Capcom has started making quality games for PC like dmc & street fighter iv & if we dont buy their games we will not see anymore of these great games.
i think everyone should buy the QUALITY pc games so we can expect to have new ones in the future.the games i buy have a solid online gameplay therefor i expect to keep them for a very long time so its money well spent. Wink

GRID is one of the better games in recent history that has a perfect mixture of arcade and simulation game play. The last NFS that I like really liked was Porsche Unleashed. Hot Pursuit 2 on the PS2 was pretty fun too though.

The reason you are so disappointed in Burnout is because you were expecting something completely different than what the game has ever been about. Burnout has always been the quintessential arcade racer; over-the-top racing with exaggerated physics.

I'm someone that leans heavily towards simulation racers, but games like Burnout are fun when you just want to full around for a couple of hours.
