Quote: |
The Godfather II game goes beyond the film's story by setting players in the world of organized crime in 1960’s Florida, Cuba and New York.
After being promoted by Michael Corleone to Don of New York, players expand to new cities, as they build up their families through extorting businesses, monopolizing illegal crime rings and defeating new families in an effort to become the most powerful mob family in America. To help players manage their empire, The Godfather II introduces "The Don's View" -- an innovative strategy meta-game that allows players to oversee the entire world as they grow the family business. Using the Don's View, players will be able to build, defend and expand their crime rings, while keeping an eye on the movements and plans of the rival families. Players will also learn to master the business of organized crime by building a family of Made Men, hiring crew, handing out orders, and promoting their best men up the ranks.
|
- Multiplayer: Yes
The Godfather II will feature a third-person shooter multiplayer mode that supports up to 16 players online. There are currently 6 maps and 4 gameplay modes announced. Multiplayer matches will also yield in-game cash and weapon licenses that can be carried over to the single player mode.

I like the idea of a strategy aspect in this genre of game. To really feel that you're having an effect on the city is one of the primary things sandbox games of this type are missing.

Too bloody right!
Sandbox titles are my favourite games next to RPGs .. yet regardless of the amount of options and avenues you have in sandbox games; you can almost never influence, or otherwise have a real effect on, the city you're playing in.
I'm all for being the "small guy" that just exists, but I also like to be able to carve my own little slice of the pie --- and actually feel like I'm achieving something!

there are many release dates out there...some say its late march or late april!
on some forum, i read, its delayed cause of all the big holliday titles getting cheaper this time of year and EA dont want to release the game now...they fear nobody will buy the game now, so they delayed it until april.....even june is mentioned!

I just installed the first Godfather on PC but then noticed that there's updated version of it on 360, getting that instead, hopefully improvements are worth a verb.

Money, mate.
If all games were region-free, then gamers would just import from the cheapest places. Buying a game from America right now would, and will, be cheaper than buying from - say - England.
That's a lot of lost "profit" for the money-grabbing commercial CUNTS.
