One of the things I found with the controls was the sluggishness was more on the DS3 than the regular sixaxis controller. Somebody said it could be a deadzone in the newer controllers. The code in the demo is probably from an older build that was made before the DS3 became widely available. I hope they fix this before the game releases. For now I am cancelling my preorder and bumping this up for rental.

Guys, I have had the full retail game for a few days now. The controls are exactly the same in the final build aswell. It's like the acceleration curve when looking around is too steep. You start off moving too slowly and it speeds up as you move which means that I'm gauranteed to overshoot my mark every time. Changing the sensitivity does not help either. That's my only real gripe with this game.

Got my reviewcopy a couple of days ago. This is by far the best looking and most intense wargame i've ever played. COD can pack it's bags. Not only is it good looking but it's real intense. The animations and the voiceovers are damn good. AI is superb state of the art and the story is quite nice to with a couple of interesting turns. You guys are really in for a treat.

I like the controls and you can chose between alot of different setups where you should be able to find one for your liking. You guys are in for a visual and exiting ride, that's for sure.

When i started the first mission and landed on ther ground my face just automatically turned in to a big, fat, happy grin...i'm fekkin owned by this game.
I just hope the MP servers comes up soon so i can try it out online.

Yeah it's a good game, but no matter what controller setup you choose it doesn't improve the aiming aspect of it at all.

Just played ther demo and gotta say i think this is gonna be on my shopping list, controls do need a bit of tweaking but thats no biggie , it seems at last the PS3 have a decent competitor for the FPS market.

And im no PS3 fan boi i got a 360 and a PS3 , i play the 360 more but that may change when killzone 2 is out Smile

News: Killzone 2 DLC comes soon after the launch!
Geplaatst: 14-02-2009 | Auteur: Lennard Verhage (Rastapopulos) | Reacties: 16 Posted: 14-02-2009 | Author: Lennard Verhage (Rastapopulos) | Comments: 16
Yesterday was PSFocus visiting Guerrilla Games at the Herengracht in Amsterdam. During our visit, we asked about other plans around the downloadable content. Guerrilla Games during that call us to confirm that there is downloadable content will come. Now this is nothing new under the horizon.

What is news is that it was told that the content fairly quickly after the launch will appear. The game will be launched on February 27 and shortly thereafter can expect new content in the PlayStation Store. Really concrete details on this content was not released, but when we indicated we had to think of new maps, weapons, modes and characters was soon clear that we must think of new maps.

Killzone 2 multiplayer now contains a dozen maps, these maps are very varied and the player will no doubt long enough deal. Nevertheless, the number in the near future be extended automatically. Of de downloadbare content naast nieuwe maps ook andere content zal gaan bevatten is niet duidelijk, Guerrilla bleef hier stilzwijgend over. Or downloadable content along with new maps also contain other content will go is unclear Guerrilla remained silent on this. If we get to know more, then let us know.

NICE!!!!

Guerilla say that they wanted you to feel like a soldier with the slow reaction, but I think it's the engine. I saw a video that said the lag is about 0,05 seconds, whereas games like Halo have 0,01 or 0,02 at max.
I believe that they needed that time to make the game run smooth, so the engine has more time to calculate the game. But I could be mistaken of course...

New advertisement for the game, looks very cool and even better is that it's all done in real time through the Killzone engine. We'll even be able to download versions of it on our PS3 and have control over the camera whilst it's playing.

There's also talk of a potential Co-operative multiplayer addon being released as DLC.

Watch, and listen to this (amusingly casual) video instead;

The 'delay' is a complete non-issue. If you want to provide some sort of basis for it being an issue go right ahead because I'm all ears?

Of course! Graphics over game play any day of the week!

seems like the lag issue can be fixed according to the 2nd link i posted. But i dunno. I havent played it. Don't own a PS3. Yet. Not enough to make me buy one at the present. Plus, i have so much shit to play between the 360 and PC it isn't funny. i just simply don't have enough time theses days for games. BUT, i would buy a PS3 if some more good games come out for it and drops some more in price.

There's nothing to fix as there is no lag. It really is a complete non-issue, and as the game is designed around this so called delay there's absolutely no way it's ever going to affect you. The only problem people have is with the sensitivity and lack of acceleration/deceleration smoothing filters (so it's either too weighty or too zippy). Of course, I just sat down and got used to the controls - but there are people that seemingly allow this to spoil their enjoyment. But again, this is a separate issue to the utterly, utterly minuscule 'delay' which is a part of the game and therefore irrelevant. It's not like you're playing Operation Flashpoint at variable frame rates and at a disadvantage. The FPS is smooth all the way through and the 'delay' (that you would never even notice were it not for the control style) is a part of the game.

Buying my PS3 wasn't an easy choice (umm'ed and ahh'ed), but I'm glad I did and the quality of the hardware meant I never felt gypped by the price. Assuming you love games there is already more than enough exclusive titles on the PS3 to sink your teeth into, and plenty of exciting ones to come.

the only delay you get its from the map streaming , it makes this game lag for 2-3 sec max and thats it ... those streams are like 7 to 14 on one mission

We can't really say how good it is until we get our hands on the full game and play through it from start to finish, And then you will know if it lived up to the hype or not.

i am sure I will buy one in the near future.
I have nothing against the PS3. I think competition in markets is a good thing and i am a fan of games... not game systems.
The PS3 would be worth it for the blue ray alone... if i wasn't able to download and play hi-def movies over a PC to my TV.

getting off topic though. Back to the game.

Looks like a few people are either extremely broke, or getting bored of their PS3s now, as I've seen FIVE preowned ones in my local pawnshops today. Hell, I'm considering picking one up tbh. £170 for the 40GB, £190 for the 60GB one.
