Gameplay feels just like the previous F.E.A.R games but a bit more hectic due to the more aggressive AI attacks though at the same time they're not as careful or defensive as the F.E.A.R 1 troopers but they do communicate tactics and stuff between them which can be snapped up if you're close enough to the soldier who's talking.
There's a bit more variety between enemies as well instead of the five or so soldiers from the first game (Normal, Heavy, "Ghost") along with the EVO suit "mech" and those paranormal events (There were also some robotic turret and flying laser drone if I remember correctly.)
Doesn't feel as scary as the first game either as for once it's more action oriented (Even the "horror" visions and such are very fast brief.) and if you've played F.E.A.R 1 or the expansions you're already used to some of the mechanics that's repeated in F.E.A.R 2
(Sure she can set things on fire plus telekinesis and do some supernatural crap but it's just a little vision of a small girl and that emaciated "woman" thing, she's ugly to look at but not really scary.)
Spoiler: |
<-Bit of a spoiler here but regarding that but what kinda fucked up doctor or scientist or whatever would be turned on by her and even go so far as sex and pregnancy, even for science there are limits and how the hell did they even "mate" seeing how dangerous and unstable that girl is.
(Unless it's artificial or something which would probably make more sense but even so someone must have "donated" a sample to make something out of.)

It's a picture of the HUD in this game I think.
EDIT: Yondaime.
Spoiler: |
It wasn't as much about the situation and story in Fear 2 as I was mainly commenting a bit about the stuff from the first game with Fettel being her "son" (The "Pointman" or what else to call the player character might also be one of her children.)
Strange experiments though, wonder what Monolith will do with this story.

Oh lol at the somewhat mentally disturbing images I can have from reading that comment.
(Telekinesis using the player character - or a part of him - as a toy for example.)

Yeah cause FEAR 1 was a shooting simulator...ffs stop with that "consolish" "arcade" non sense, for me it feels like a real polished PC fps.

Definitely less scary, and it could have used more variation in terms of enemy types. The 'consolization' was to be expected, though.

It's decent, nothing more. The first one was definitely better.

Well, IMHO "the first one was definately better" isn;t an insult, it was an amazing game and takes some living up to.
