Having to buy costumes is BS in my opinion. Why the hell should I pay MS points to make a character look different? Screw you Capcom and MS on this one...it's not exactly add-on content.

Hmm i've noticed that in Arcade mode, when you fight your rival, you can hear the oriignal SF2 themes remixed in the background... Is there any way to have them every time even in VS mode so we dont have to listen to the new crappy themes ?

Im trying to enjoy the game, but i totally suck at it. (Yes, this is my first SF game, i played bits and pieces of old ones, but never really got into it)
Cant even beat the first guys in arcade mod. I got their health close to zero but then its like they go crazy, they unleash some crazy combo or special move that kills me or get close to it.
Not a fan of pressing backwards to block, but i see why its there, its impossible to turtle since you'll be just walking backwards and you have to block low and high attacks.
Is there a list of combos? I could only find the list of special moves.
Im gonna keep trying, hopefully i'll have the controller by the end of the day. And IMO PS3 controller is a lot better for fighting games, and xbox for shooters.
Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.

I fucking suck at this. Wanted to unlock characters So trying to blaze through the game on Very Easy/1 Round. What the fuck shit is fucking up with that last fucking boss? Goddamn cheap ass fucking counter block, teleport, grab, teleport, i'm fucking raping you and you can't do shit. On the easiest fucking mode?

just hit hard kick all the time. If the timing goes out of sync, jump backwards and continue.

wow it's really not that hard. just do a jump kick with the hardest kick, then immediately follow up with a crouching kick which will knock the guy off his feet. if you miss the crouching kick he will do the piledriver on you but seriously, it's not that tough.
also you mentioned you're playing on "very easy" there's also an "easiest" setting. the opponent hardly even fights back and never blocks.

By very easy I meant easiest. Also Lol at no blocking. I'll run up to him and throw in some medium drop kicks and sweeps. The sweep usually gets him but then he does that counter/block thing and then opens up into like a 20 hit combo. If I anticipate it and block all of sudden he has me by the head and throws me around. Then if I try to jump kick he'll automatically uppercut me in the air and combo me again. The guy counters everything I throw at him. I can't get close cause he cheap grabs and counters. I can't stay far cause of extendo arms. I can block that no prob, which usually gets him to jump in and I can hit him a couple times like that, but even when I do good he unloads his revenge meter on me at like the worst time.
The guy is the cheapest effin boss I've ever had to fight. I'm tired and frustrated with trying to beat him. Man, all I wanted was some character unlocks. My friends and I were bummed most of our faves were locked. Whatever happened to getting a game and just being able to play with your friends out of the box?
If I bought this game, I'd have to devote all my time to mastering the movesets just to get my full games worth. Then, now that I've mastered it, my friends won't play me cause I've gotten too good. How is that fun? At least leave unlocks to alternate costumes or music or whatever. Don't lock away 30% of the roster. It ruins the game for people like me, who prefer to play these types of games with friends on a casual "lets have a few beers and knock out a few rounds" basis.

I think there should have been harder unlocks in this game. All the unlockable characters are easily unlocked in one night. Last boss can be annoying, but especially on the easiest level he's really not very tough.
If you took the time and tried to actually learn the game instead of mindless button mashing, you might enjoy it more. I'd suggest you try it.

I have always been an MK and Tekken fan, but I've got to admit I really like this SF ^^
Great graphics, fluid animation, some really nice moves - characters are cool too ^^ This is the first SF I like 
At first it felt kinda weird but when you realise how ultras / moves are performed you're going to have lots of fun I'm still a newbie though..

You can't button mash a street fighter game. It doesn't work.
I do agree that the last boss is cheap and can be frustrating as hell. I struggle on with him on medium while the other characters up to him are a breaze.
Plus, arcade mode isn't the best thing in SFIV imo. The challenges are and for them, you need to know your moves with at least 1 character.

Hey hey hey wooooaaaah. Assuming I button mash cause I suck isn't very fair to me. All I wanted was to play as Sakura, a character I've played in every street fighter since her introduction to the series. Hell, I was pretty good for a casual in Alpha 3. My frustration stems from a super cheap end boss. My biggest problem though is the 360 controller. Good god it's shit for fighters. I'll be rolling the stick to try to hadouken but instead I'll either roll to far and jump, or he'll just punch. It's freaking anoying that I can't even pull off a hadouken because they either fucked up the timing and/or the controller it bullshit.
Was it not that you had to punch as soon as the stick went to the forward position? I'm finding that I can roll the stick forward then punch and it's really messing me up because I distinctly remember having to punch much sooner. Also, button configs: How did you remap yours?
X, A - High, Medium Punch
Y, B - High, Medium Kick
RB - Low Punch
RT - Low kick
XY for punches is uncomfortable as all hell when trying to EX attack.
As for buying a stick. I'm not gonna spend $50 for a shitty stick for a game I'll play casually with friends, if at all. So I'm sticking with the ultra shitty 360 controller.
Anyway, don't just assume I button mash and attempt to write off my complaints with the game. How bout postin some useful tips like "hey, tap medium punch and kick together to parry an oppenents attack". Something I found out after going to gamefaqs.

Fucking last boss ridicilous. Allmost giving up on this fucking game already. Can't even beat him on easiest(only managed once so far with Vega)

Really? you should learn some moves or something...
I havent played SF sinve the old days(or just started a little while again with HDRemix) and ive beaten the game with every character so id unlock all the extras. I did a few on normal and the rest on easy when i got bored of arcade mode.
Seth can be shit yes, its like the a.i just stops and hangs on "Defeat player mode" so that you lose no matter what you do. I had this happen once or twice and i needed several tries before i got him, but i just needed to find a tactic with my character and see trough his moves and defences.
Thing is tough....I played trough again right after(As i said i was unlocking characters) and he was easy as shit. And this time i used a different character soo i didnt have the same tactic. Its like its just random or something.
Hot tip is to use someone that has projectile attacks like ryu\ken`s hadouken, keep shooting like a mf and if he gets close, sweep kick and get him down then shoryuken in perfect time everytime he gets up. If your playing on easy he usually wont block that.
Edit: And ive been playing with the standard 360 controller, wich isnt all that shit if you get used to using the analog stick instead of the horrible d-pad. Wont be a match for a fightpad or stick of course. Cant wait to get mine.....amazon bastards...SHIP MY SHIT ALREADY.

1 - High kick him all the time, he'll rarely block.
2 - Try to avoid getting too close to him coz he'll throw you every time
3 - You can jump and perform an aerial attack and as soon as he is hit, sweep his feet, go away and repeat.
What was annoying last night is that after unlockin all chars except Seth, still on easiest to save time...the games difficulty DOUBLED all of a sudden as I kept finishing arcade with different chars...WTF??? Even easiest difficulty is adjusted to suit your skill as you keep winning????
