I hope it's offline. I can't imagation staying connected to live the entire time I'm playing the single player story mode in Lost & the Damned
I plan to buy this off live with my modded Elite and play it offline with a verb GTA 4.
They should get smart with their DLC content per game. They could just as easily make you boot the game up first when connected to live and access the Menu option to grab Downloadable Content. As I have read around other forums, this addon is available from the Xbox Live Marketplace selection screen thus bypassing this option. Makes it easier to find yet harder to Control unless your console it totally banned from live.
I got mine from xbox.com and it allowed me to tag it to my live account when I log in. It should automatically download once I connect.
I have purchased quite a few xbox live arcade games on my system and have had no problems with playing them off-line or getting banned. The one time I did get banned was when I put in a backup copy of Saint's Row in the drive and forgot to disconnect from live. That console is no longer working (RROD) and has been replaced by my Elite.

Has you bought from these before?
I ask as I was going to use them but they don't work out too much cheaper than MS.
For example, 1600MS Points works out at £18.82 from MS or £18.71 from these guys.
For the sake of 11pence just wondering if its worth it. |

I dont know what it is, but Im loving this expansion. The multiplayer modes are fun as hell and the singleplayer just feels ... different. I feel like a villain tearing ass through Liberty City on a chopper.
I would like to see a list of the enhancements/improvements that were made to the engine too. Maybe nothing has changed there but it feels a lot smoother for some reason.

It IS playable offline, but only on the box you downloaded it on.
If you put the HDD on another 360, then it will only work if you're connected to Live.

Do you have to update the original GTA4 or something like that? Because TLAD won't start for me. I have downloaded it via live, disconnectet from it, put my verb GTA4 in and i can't select it, when i click "new game". The content is on my harddrive and doesn't seem corrupt.

Yes!!! You Do!!!
That's what most people aren't telling you. You need to put the disc in, connect to live
and it will update the game. This update (from what I've read around the net) allows you to select what episode you want to play. Mine has the same problem as yours. I can play the Original game all I want but I can't start the DLC Episode.
I've deleted all of my GTA 4 saved games hoping this would load, but it won't. I don't mind replaying GTA 4 but it was nice to have a save game or two on hand.
I'm off to the used game shop during lunch to pick up a used copy so I can have a legit disc to update the game with.
There will be another episode coming and more than likely will have to go thru this again.

Only if I use the verb to download the update. I find it hard to believe that everyone is using there verb copy to grab this patch, which would spell certain death for your console and ban it from live.
Which is why I plan on doing the update with a "legit" disc. To keep my console un-banned from live. If someone out there was smart enough to copy the update files that the game uses and add them to a CDR, you may get around the problem of coming up with a retail disc to do the update. Heck, they post demos that you can grab and try without a live connection, why would this be any different?
I don't have another 360 to try this on or what I would do is put my Hard Drive on it, load my GTA 4 Retail Disc, Grab the Update, then put this back in my current 360 and do the license transfer option to lock it to my console. The update for GTA 4 is now on my hard drive.
Updates to games can only be done by live. You can't grab them like dashboard updates.

u can use a verbatim disc if ur iso of gtaiv has been stealthed properly,and all the files verified its only when u don't stealth that they know it doesn't match with a retail disc

You are full of shit about the whole ban thing. If you have your xbox flashed you are at a risk of getting banned and that's it. Doesn't matter if you buy this one game or not, if you played many burned games on your console before, one bought game won't magically save you from the ban. NO ONE knows exactly how MS bans consoles, the only 100% certain thing to not get banned is to have a not flashed console. I know many people who played multiplayer games on live and bought DLCs using burned games for over two years and no ban. So I'll repeat myself, your theory is BS.

no what im saying is if u stealth ur games properly and wait till the release hits retail,verifying ur files through abgx etc gives u more chance of not being banned,besides one disc ain't gonna make a difference,they don't do instant bans they watch consoles that don't have correct verified games and then log them and keep a close eye on you,but if u don't play ur backups until you verify them stealth wise etc and also have latest firmware ur chances of not being caught are high,i've played over 150 backup games all stealthed and downloaded heeps of dlc through the backup on live and in 2 years im still unbanned

Really. Then why can I download Xbox Live Arcade games and Theme Packs plus watch Netflix streams without so much as a ban? From what your saying I should already be banned because as soon as I connect they know. Now I'll give you credit there, that's BS!!

having firmware doesn't ban u,its only if u play backups,u can have firmware and yet use retail games,downoading arcade stuff makes no difference and won't ban you
