The challengers :

G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231166

OCZ Reaper HPC 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227289

Which is more compatible/auto-recognized by the motherboard ? Which is better for gaming ?

I won't buy them from newegg, so those prices aren't relevant.

ive been using GSKILL exclusively for the past 5 years all on my systems and every system i build for someon else.

not a single issue with any mobo, no crashes , no dead ram.

But from i read OCZ is pretty good too, whatever the differences are, they are really really small , cant go wrong with either.

Well, there is a slight difference in timings. I don't expect it to be measurable in real-life situation.
G.Skill are better :5-5-5-15, OCZ are at 5-5-5-18

Depends entirely on the specific make and model of motherboard, bios version, SPD info on the RAM chips etc.

That said, both G-Skill and OCZ are known for high quality enthusiast products. I'm perfectly happy with my OCZ Reaper 2*2 kit.

Yeah... as far as compatibility goes, your mb manual usually has a list of supported memory brands.

Corsairs if you can afford em but if price is an issue go with OCZ. Decently-overclockable and quite affordable.
