More fun. Also, you have more control over the unit. Very Happy

BTW, I fixed my "installer does not respond" problem. DT reinstall (or install of the latest version of it, not sure if mine was older).

Nothing is more fun than selecting one unit, pushing the "End" button on your keyboard, and then control the unit yourself Very Happy

Go to select mission instead, all the nations are there - but you can only select the first mission of their campaign.

Why isn't there an offline skirmish mode? Is there a way to add AI bots to MP matches?

No. Seems like a really easy thing for them to do as well (just stick a couple of AI units in the map editor, walk into their vision, and then the AI kicks in). I think modders (like with Operation Flashpoint) did quite a bit with scripting in Faces of War, so hopefully they move over to Men of War.

Edit; damn, map editor driving me insane. Added loads of units and set them up exactly where I wanted... then clicked finish and it reverted back to the original map with no units. My heart sank. Where's the documentation ffs Twisted Evil Crying or Very sad

Yea the map/mission editor is quite strange. Smile

http://www.digitalmindsoft.eu/forums/index.php

Check out their forum, there is a section called GEM Editor. You will find a short tut there on how to use the editor "properly". It wont help too much but will get you started at least...

If its the same as the editor for FoW, the key is adding them into the right "mode" I think, selected by F1, F2, F3..
I used to make small "sandbox missions" in the editor for FoW. Like 50 invading Germans and 5-10 Allies defending some small house. Pretty intense stuff actually. Smile

EDIT: I found a small tutorial on my computer. Uploaded it for anyone who wants it, don't know if its to any help thou. No idea If its the same editor for MoW as I havent installed that game yet.

Squirrely: Now come on y'all. We can't waste time arguing. There could still be survivors out there. We need to hunt them down, and kill them.
Beary: How about we kill them, and then rape their bodies so we can use their blood as lubricant.

Cheers for the links SilverBlue & Unauthorized, am getting somewhere now. It is the same editor as for FoW, GEM editor it's called.

I absolutely love this game, BUT........ beeing part of the beta actually made me reconsider buying this game.
Don't get me wrong. Game is awesome, but the lack of skirmish for offline play made me rethink buying it.
For the one reason that online games seems to be filled with either russian and italians. Now I got nothing against either of them, but finding a game in the beta was almost impossible for a english only speaking person.
Simply not enough english speaking people plays the game and game seems completely missed out in the western world.
You can only buy this game in a handfull of countries in the western world so most people who will be playing it will have importted it from one of those countries.
So my worry is that it will be like the beta was. Very loney in the lobby if you only speak english and 50+ people who refused to communicate in anything but russian or english making it almost impossible for someone like myself to get a game going.
Now that wouldnt be a problem for me if I had skirmish to fall back on but unfortunatly there isn't a skirmish mode to play.

The creators of the Dynamic Mission Generator are making it compatible with MoW. That is kinda like a skirmish mode.

You were placing the units in "play mode". You're supposed to place everything first, then press START, when you want to test your map.

I can understand you.
I ´v been in all the betas and we add a quite pleasant English speaking community in the last closed beta, but when they open the gates a lot of new comers trumped in. The game experience doped accordantly as the MP is a team game.
Recently the game as been released in some country's being the most important Italy... Uk is one of the last so the amazon buyers are still waiting..(myself included)
I expect the westerns who communicate in English crowed to fill the MP lobby after 27 Feb. I also expect the "newcomers-mute-drop-out- in-middle-off-game" to disappear shortly after.

PS: Like said above The DCG (Dynamic campaign generator) is just that a skirmisher.

There is a MoW clan on XFire, join it and you can hook up with English users (like myself) there.

Embarassed

Yes, I thought stupidly that this was the only way to control the units (to get them to load into tanks ready for mission start) - but if you press F1 and select from the numpad (team 0/player = num 0, player 1 = num 1, etc...) the side of the units you want to control you can do the same thing and move them around as normal. You need to select the team before placing units as well, so you don't end up placing all units of the same team... like I did... Rolling Eyes

Very Happy

Just played around in the editor for hours. Had a small group of Shermans fend off endless waves of infantry with anti-tank rifles grinhurt To make it a little bit fair though, the tanks only used AP shells. Once it got boring, I finished everything off by placing a nuke in the middle of the group of tanks, and blew it up.
