Anyway, don't just assume I button mash and attempt to write off my complaints with the game. How bout postin some useful tips like "hey, tap medium punch and kick together to parry an oppenents attack". Something I found out after going to gamefaqs. |
Apologies from me.
I kinda agree about Seth. The AI is somewhat crazy in SFIV. Sometimes its easy as hell, other times its insane.
I had the same problem with the challenge mode (think its the 5th one) on Time attack. I'd get to round 11 in plenty of time (with Ryu) and E Honda would be insanely difficult.
Repeated the Challenge with Sakura and he was back to being normal and easy.
My tip for today would be to remap your controls so that medium and hard punch/kick are on the main buttons rather than the shoulder ones. I find I tend to not use light punch, or use it rarely, so its justing up space in an ideal place for something useful.

The only way to be safe is have a non flashed console and buy games. No one knows exactly how MS detects flashed consoles. If you care about not getting banned so much you shouldn't have bought a flashed console.

im not too bothered about being banned i just wanted to be able to download the dlc, im confused tho, has anyone been banned by connecting to live without a game in the tray? |
Well, you see, bans come in waves. When the ban shitstorm hits tons of consoles get banned at once (usually around the time huge dashboard update is out). That's one of the reasons why there is no exact knowledge of how MS detects consoles. You can play for years fine and then finally get banned.

So, can we actually play on live with a modded Xbox and the burned version of SF4? (noob here).

First of all, unreal game! Loving it so far. Seth is really tough! I got my a$$ handed to me with Chun Li 20 times in a row on very easy and had to quit because it was so ridiculous. Started over with CViper and did very well until I got to EHonda............pwned!!!! I was destroyed 15 times in a row and then broke through and finally beat him. I cannot do the ex/ultras to save my life. Need to get the SF4 control pad. I got to Seth with CViper and beat him on my first try!!! LOL! The game is all over the place with it's AI difficulty. Great game though and looking forward to getting the gamepad.

yeah, i got that
But do you guys usually play burned games on live ?
Initially i wanted to get the game for my PS3, but i'm (always) short on cash |
I know I am going to download some DLC if it's really something I want. I figure they could easily find out if I am running a hacked console. It doesn't make any sense that they can see your hacked if you play a game on Live but cannot see you are hacked if you don't. You turn on your X360 and connect to live right away anyway. I for one always unplug my console when I play unless I am playing a game I bought. But I have read on x360 hacker forums that that doesn't even matter. Like Glottis said, it's anyone's guess how they do it. For me, I will be getting the Tomb Raider Underworld, SF4, Force Unleashed and Fable II DLC without a 2nd thought. If they ban me I then have a great hacked console for all my downloaded games. $300 later, HD and Live 3month membership and I am back on live. It just forces you to get 2 consoles when you should have 2 anyway.

I played more of this game when it was new back in the day than you can possibly imagine. what i am saying now is, it feels dated, less complex than modern fighters. I love street fighter, i love the charcters they are gaming icons. so FU

I guess it depends on how good you want to be and who you play but this game isn't shallow like some are trying to make out.

but it doesn't have the depth as say Virtua fighter. There is simply not enough variation in the moves. Like I said, i played this til my fingers bled on the SNES but other than improved graphics and they odd change here and there, it has not progressed in all these years significantly.

I got one of the SF4 controllers today (last one in the shop and I stole it from someone who pre-ordered buhahaha).. It really does improve the gameplay..
As for the difficulty levels.. I struggled to kill Seth on the easiest setting.. It took around 40 attempts to get him down the first time. Since then I've one shotted him most times. I seem to be getting better at the game very quickly. It is a joy to play though!
