Perhaps what you've downloaded actually does contain a trojan? It's not unusual that some evil sob downloads a release and replaces or add a trojan to the package and then uploads it.

Downloading now! 50% 15min to go Wink

I hope this will solve the problem.

I might already have a trojan in the pc, and it activates somehow when I execute the autorun. (hope that doesn´t sound stupid Very Happy)

It´s very unlikely that the game comes with a trojan in it... And it´s a clone...

I thought about that, but I think that´s not possible in a clone, editing the image. Right?

The game has interesting ideas and decent atmosphere, but I find it quite repetitive... played 5 levels so far and always the same scenery... also the graphics look much better when you are in the "past"/mental echo mode, due to nice light filters and stuff... in the "normal" game all the ice just makes it appear dull...

So far, palyable game, but not excellent.

Uninstall all the shitty antiviruses and use www.virustotal.com if you suspect a file might be infected. Having ANY antivirus installed causes more problems than solves. Only really really nooby people (your granpda, your mom, etc) might have some use from antivirus software.

There's no need to interfere, it's pretty self regulatory. Those who know enough to not have antivirus installed won't install it. Those who aren't at that level will have antivirus installed. Once they reach the level necessary to safely use the PC without antivirus they will realize they don't need it.

I´m sure I am at that level Smile It´s just a precaution...

You just need to be sure of what you are running.

It´s just something that I never thought about it, but now that you mention it I will remove the AV Wink

The way I think about it is : I need a firewall, so fuck it, I'll use a antivir/firewall solution. I can tell false alarms from true ones.

I hate antivirus since it's so damn invasive and drags down PC performance. I have a better experience by never opening e-mail spam/crap, never run unknown exe's, use Spybot S&D, use virustotal for all keygens/cracks before use etc.

Play in DX9, it is some sort of an incompatibility between the game and ATI for now. Smile

Quote:
1. In a folder " \gamefolder\Data \Scripts \ " open a file "init.cfg" by means of a notebook.
2. Find in it a line " d.consoleh = 0 " and change on " d.consoleh = 1 ".

In game press a tilde "~ " and enter codes:

Immortality - godmode = 1
To add HP - pl.health = "amount"
Infinite cartridges - unlimited_ammo = 1
Through walls - d.noclip = 1
Flight - d.fly = 1
The weapon (mosin, ppsh and etc) - giveall

Reset codes: 0 instead of 1 in all cheats

For ATI cards under DX10 you need to alter r.windowed 0 to r.windowed 1 in init.cfg in the Data\Scripts directory and as mentioned you can also enable the console from there to further tweak the game or just cheat.

Water caustics also drain performance on ATI cards aside from the other problems but they really add to the atmosphere of the ship.

As for the game (Mentioned in the manual.) you play as Alexander Nesterov having left the station Pole 21 on the North Pole and are on the way to the mainland via a ship when disaster strikes and you end up taking cover in what appears to be a abandoned ice breaker.

Game mixes survival and action with a bit of horror as you traverse the ship and encounter the strange inhabitants in it, you also constantly fight against the freezing cold so you're only option is to find heat sources or power up the ship but this has the side effect of awakening the once deep frozen inhabitants on the ship.

You also have a strange power called mental echo where you can go back to the past of people via their mind and correct their fatal actions and accidents in order to solve puzzles and continue on your way trough the ship.

Combat mixes first person melee with improvised weapons such as a lock and chain knuckle duster or a broken valve with shooting once you get ahold of weapons enemies are also very varied from simple thugs to axe wielding brutes to armed guards and utility workers equipped with torches.

Combat also might seem a bit simple at first as you block with one key and attack with another but you can also use the movement keys to change how you attack in order to gain a advantage of your enemies.

Visually the game isn't that varied as it mostly takes place in the abandoned ship but it uses a lot of custom shaders and effects to really increase visual fidelity with ice melting off surfaces as you heat up a room or water casting rays of light on objects plus it also uses PhysX to improve physics interactions for stuff like particles, cloth such as banners and various fluids.
(Both DX9 and DX10 is supported.)

It usually isn't that scary though aside from the occasional enemy "pop-up" suddenly appearing from somewhere but at most it's just a quick surprise and won't really scare you.

Hope this helps somewhat, not the best for a short review and you can probably say a lot more about the game but it's functional. Smile

i played 1 hour of the game where i'm underwater moving with a robot thing..

can't make up my mind, the game is super-boring and graphics are average, performance is great on my GTX280 with everything maxed @ 1650x1050.

the story is interesting.

gonna give it one more whirl and probably uninstall it, this is DOOM with a half-decent story, i'm tired of opening doors and walking in dark corridors with dumb monsters that aren't scary, they're just suprising.

meh.

lol zombie cought $hitting in the water, no wonder its murky. Very Happy

One question about turning hardware physics off, what does it do gameplay-wise? I won't see stuff melt anymore? Or the melting and water pouring won't be as realistic?
